Why I joined November Project – Brad

Heading into the GLOW RUN this Friday, we wanted to share a few stories from tribe members.
This is Brad’s story:

I was invited to November Project by a friend, LeeAnn. When i heard what it was, I heard a workout group. What I really heard was it’s farther away than what I wanted to travel to go to get a good workout in. So, I didn’t go. Months went by and I was feeling lonely and was looking for a good community of people again to work out with and I reached back out LeeAnn and got the details of when “NP” does their workouts. Wednesdays at 6:28 in the river north area and 6:00 am on Fridays at the Bean in downtown Chicago. read more

Community: Let’s RISE

Good evening!

Awesome energy and efforts this morning. Way to push yourselves and each other.

Just a few reminders of ways that we can continue to create community and continue to Rise Up as we enter into this Fall:

Let’s Rise: vLog #2

The short and sweet (just like me):
1- #justshowup (and do so on time)
2- Lead from within, and by example
3- Take it to the next level read more

Inclusivity vs. Not Exclusivity. V-log #1: That’s Wazgoingon.

CHALLENGE!

Be Inclusive, not Not Exclusive.

Inclusive = active. Bring people in.
Exclusive = active. Pushing people away.
Not Exclusive = passive. Not pushing them away, but not trying to bring them in, either.

We’re not going to be Exclusive. I won’t even suggest it, or talk about that. BUT, let’s try to make an effort to not be Not Exclusive, either. Let’s be FULLY Inclusive. read more

CONGRATS TO A.STEWART PUGSLEY ON YOUR PA TODAY!

August: Wednesday Location Change!

For the month of August, we’ll be meeting at CRICKET HILL on Wednesdays. Bye, bye, Kwanusila. Same start time: 6:28a. We’ll meet in the center lawn of the track. At this location, well gain access to MOAR hillz, MOAR track, same waterfront/Lake access, same field playground. So, net positive! We earn great recruiting opportunities here (track runners) and can streamline our workouts when we want to use this space (no more getting spread out in the run/jog/bike commute from the Totem Pole). We’ll even get to expand our identity in the city: the only group that does regular hill workouts. Please give us your feedback in this trial period! read more

Gotta Give the Tribe a Hand (when a finger won’t do) (GUEST BLOG)

What happens at NP doesn’t always stay at NP

As some of you may or may not have heard by now, I’m kind of a big deal. I went from someone who some people knew, to a girl who almost EVERYONE in the Chicago tribe knew overnight.

Let me back up. Just over a week ago, on Saturday night, many of us shared the wonderfully planned and incredibly fun night that was: November Project Prom. Ladies and Gents that you rarely see in public not in workout clothes got dressed to the nines, some with dates, and rolled up to a taco pub to get weird with the weirdest people around. We were dancing the night away, taking photos, eating nachos, and drinking all the sangria and margaritas we could get our hands on. read more

Let’s Rise

Good morning, tribe!

Way to fight through the noise, rain, and claustrophobia. The conditions were adverse, and presented their own challenges. In workouts like today, the impetus for positivity and fortitude shifts a bit off Andy and I to the group-at-large. It was great to see how that played out. Amongst clouds and puddles, you shined. read more

Upcoming April Events

Waddle-up, ducklings.

Great to see so many faces this morning who awoke for the first time after a long winter’s hibernation. The tribe is better, faster, louder, stronger, funnier when you are all there. Truly- we missed you.

For those who’ve been coming regularly: it was similarly excellent to see you all. We have  long year ahead of us still and I’ve from many of you about your athletic goals. Share these! We’re moving towards them together; this community is the perfect space to keep the motivation, encouragement, and training moving ahead. Let’s rock this year. read more

NP_CHI Sunrise 6k – 2017

What can I say about this morning that you don’t already know: the weather conditions were far from ideal, but you didn’t let that stop you from #showingup. The “feels like” temps were 15 degrees, and there was “moderate wind” that I heard a few people notice (TRUTH: 20 mph head wind (front half)/ 20 mph tail wind (back half)). You braved this all and accomplished exactly what was the plan: you raced. read more

CHEER CHAIN (from guest blogger, Zach)

There’s a new award in town.

But this one doesn’t come from the leaders. Not from Andy or Kevin or Brendan or Brent or Brogan or Bojan.

This award is #grassroots. It’s from us, to us.

Starting today, NP Chicago’s Cheer Chain is a new way to recognize each other for the ways we work together to make our community stronger. read more
