Old School Lincoln Park (DCA)

We’re talkin’ 90s throwback to those days of JNCO jeans and new episodes of Fresh Prince. Today’s kickass workout (did I mention it was kickass?) taking place in Lincoln Park called for one playlist only. If you missed the irony during the workout, you can still jump on that bandwagon. Yes, you guessed it, we were blasting Linkin Park in Lincoln Park. Even Lincoln stood up. It had to be done. For past and future playlists, follow this guy on twitter or spotify. read more

P(V)R Week (DCA)

Many of you know that in some cases PR stands for Personal Record. What most of you don’t know is that it can also stand for other things. Like Public Relations, Paul Revere, Panda Revival, Private Ritual, Psycho Racoon. The list goes on and on. Today’s P(V)R stands for Polar Vortex Riders. Yes, we here in DC have ridden the Polar Vortex and today was the final stop. So soak in the bone-chilling wind because in three months you’ll be begging for it. Here’s to warmer temperatures on their way. Great job to everyone that killed 18 or 14 LOGS today. read more

This Spaghetti Comes Canned

The continuation of our Sunday Series would not be complete without sharing the story of our next guest blogger. There isn’t much to say about him besides the fact that it’s not possible to go to a workout, social hour, or see him on the street without getting the biggest, most friendly, hello-and-great-to-see-you hug. We hope you like Italian food because this is Can of Spaghetti (Chris Cantergiani): read more

Lobsters and Stairlamanders (DC)

What do these two animals have in common? Nothing. Actually, one isn’t even an animal. It’s a beast of a workout (see what I did there?). DC needs to take it’s pants off sometimes and loosen up, tickle each others’ chins, and hold their hugs for 5 seconds longer. We are more than happy to provide the opportunity for all these and more…especially if it involves strange locations that you didn’t know existed…unless you’re Sam Bilotta and you know all the history details about the Maine Lobsterman Memorial. Luckily, we didn’t have to travel to Maine to see it. We continue to get weird, rock beats, and build an amazing community of damn good-looking people with sexy bods. People still say that right? read more

We Know What You Meade

People like to tell you everything that you need in order to have a good life/be successful/be awesome/etc. Some say money, others say knowledge, and the random few swear by eating bacon and twinkies. But we’ve come up with a perfect formula for your life to be great. We like to stress form so pay attention. There are multiple steps: read more

In Like a Fuckin’ Lion (DCA)

In 10 years when you’re your visiting DC and you drive past the WWII Memorial, your words will be, “remember when Danny and Steve had no fucking clue what they were doing that one November Project morning in March but how awesome it was?” Shit gets thrown at us, steps get shutdown, but we stay in motion, go against gravity, and let people know how we sweaty we are when we’re done. Pretty simple ingredients for success. We found a playground in the WWII memorial that was  dope and will be a future Friday destination that we will tear up (see C Baum below). I was a little out of my element this morning but you all kept me rolling with it and that was COOL, THANKS. read more

#Congratucation (District of Columbia)

Yes it’s a word. I’m pretty sure Hallmark is calling me right now to ask if they can use it on their greeting cards. How do I know it’s a word? I made it up and what I say is LAW. That being said, we finished up our Senior Theses today (the coldest day in February) at Georgetown Law with a rad group of cool cats bear (and according to Keith, bears sound like pirates) crawling, bench hopping, and stair burpeeing (another new word to at to your vocabulary). Finished it out with intimate sprint work because we want you all to be real real comfortable with each other. Ok, enough about what we did. Let’s talk about what we’re going to do. read more

Mugs and Hugs

What just happened. Is this real life? Am I still high from all the fumes of tagging a shit-ton of #grassrootsgear? Actually, I might be. So if you don’t keep reading, I’ll understand. Today was sick. And if anyone had a fever, the only prescription was…you guessed it…MORE COWBELL. Fireman Five workout hopefully introduced everyone to someone new and got your blood flowing. Ma Nature decided to give us a scare with a little sprinkle, most likely because of the hype for warm weather. We’re looking forward to her cooperation throughout the spring season (knock on wood. No seriously, I just knocked on wood so you should too. Well, actually I knocked on particle board but it’s the same thing, right? Not that I’m a fan. Real wood is better. Particle board is just so cheap. But I digress) read more

Heating Up In DC

Ok so it’s actually not getting any warmer. We’re actually supposed to get a foot of snow tonight. But we’re spreading our own warmth in the Nation’s capitol. The warmth of hips-in-hugs (great form everyone, no injuries as of yet), smiles, high-fives, some F*ck Yeahs, and the knowledge that we’re not the only crazy people out there. We decided to celebrate an icon‘s birthday today since we so absurdly run on his memorial’s steps every Wednesday. Top-hats, beards, and speeches were top-notch. Danny and my workout explanations are getting clearer (we hope). We completed a McEnroe workout (which has nothing to do with the Olympics or Abe) and finished with the classic plank race. read more

Sweaty, Steamy, Smiley Hugs

Here in the US capitol, we like to keep it weird, sit on each others’ laps, and make our own fog. We did just that with today’s workout, bringing back the neighborhood workout. The point of this is to get to know the people that live close to you. We’re just trying to make it easy for everyone to make some new friends, run to workouts together, grab coffee with each other, and build an awesome community. read more
