Free tickets sell out for Twin Peaks dance duo

The moment we’ve all been waiting for. The dynamic dance duo of Lola McGreen & Patches O’Leary will be taking to the Twin Peaks stage in the early matinee show Friday morning. Show director, Weston McBride, has been working with the duo for months in the leadup to the performance. Just show up at Christmas Tree Point at 6:25AM to see it first. read more

The Recruitment of Madison Gil (NPSF)

As Connor, Laura and I (their almost adopted son) meandered through the streets of downtown Madison Friday night, we came across a familiar site in the distance. Those flowing locks. That broad smile. Hearing that familiar laughter. It must be. It couldn’t be. Is that? Is that Gil? This long haired fellow was biking away, so we gave chase. When we caught up with him, we found that this fella was indeed not Gil Levy. But if he was any way similar to our own curly headed Gilbert, November Project Madison needed him as a Tribe member. The recruitment began. With Laura on his right telling Madison Gil about the fierceness of these free workouts. And Paddy on his left talking about the community aspect, the sweaty hugs, the Mitch Westwoods of the world that Madison Gil was going to meet. read more

The NBA Finals workout as told by Ali Fauci (NPSF)

This morning, the Tribe took to our “NBA Finals” workout with a fervour of a whole other level. Last time, I saw a fervour like that was when a bus-seated unfed bonking Josh Zipin was offered a rice cracker 2 hours after he finished a 6 hour race on the gnarliest trails east of Mount Watchusett and decided that crowd surfing was more important than fueling. But beyond ripping on Zip’s post-race recovery strategy, that was a great sight for both of us at the workout this morning. All these pairs throwing the fuck down from game 1 to game 7. Wang vs Stubbs. Hutchinson vs Oberle. Relentless. Absorbing. Unlike the NBA finals which our lads, the Warriors, sealed up with remarkable ease (sorry Mark!! Too soon?). read more

They See Me Rollin’ (NPSF)

They See Me Rollin’ Plank Challenge

So over these past few months, we’ve been throwing down with our Indianapolis brothers and sisters in push up and plank challenges. Inspired by Chris Sheesley’s idea, this month we’re going to get our Tribes to keep ourselves accountable for looking after our bodies and helping ensure we’re still doing NPSF and trails and road races in decades time. No teams this time around. Individually, we’re aiming to get 10 minutes of stretching and rolling per day throughout the month of June. Throw in your names and Tribe in the doc. read more

Buck, PLZ?

Editor’s comment: T&T nearly gave Laura & Paddy a heart attack this morning when they told us they both slept in. Well played, lads!

And thanks for looking after the Tribe. When we asked both of you to lead it, we all became instantly jealous that we wouldn’t be there to join in the fun. And take it away, Tod! read more

Squatin’ on the Dock of the Bay (NPSF)

“Squatin’ in the morning sun
I’ll be squatin’ when the evening comes
Watching bikegang roll in
Then I watch them roll away again, yeah

Bear crawlin’ on the dock of the bay
Watchin’ the tide roll away, ooh
I’m just plankin’ on the dock of the bay
Wastin’ time” read more

Our extended family (NPSF)

For several of us coming off the back of that little mini-summit called the Boston Marathon, we were once again invigorated by seeing that we have this huge extended family across the November Project world. From the Friday morning on Summit Avenue through to the Mile 18 season, Boston welcomes Tribe members from Edmonton to San Francisco and New York to Minneapolis. Many strangers bonding over sweaty hugs, absurdly loud cheer gangs and a beer or fifteen. Everytime we come back from one of these events, we realise how fortunate we are to be part of this awesome, open, accepting community. Sidenote: Speaking of this awesome community, make sure you join for our Show & Tell event at The North Face store, Post st. Next Wednesday 26th at 7PM. And then our “Light Up the Coast” run with the SD and LA Tribes. Meeting to start the run at Baker Beach, 6:30PM on Saturday 29th. Dress for running (but do pack some layers). read more

Buck the Trend (NPSF)

A man so positive, we awarded the Positivity award to him TWICE.

A beautiful thing about November Project is its consistency. Regardless of the weather. Regardless of what’s happening that week. November Project will be there. And there are few people who epitomise that value as much as Nick “Buck”  Vandehey. Over the past four years since that faithful day Nick Buck Vandehey found Laura’s chalked NP promo on the Alamo Square sidewalk, Nick has been a pillar of our San Francisco Tribe. There’s no bucking the trend here! read more

Fresh Prince of the Bay (NPSF)

All these Enya memes, being lost at basketball nomenclature, and making a mess of Space Jam tunes really made me reminisce about a simpler time. Here’s the story about how I ended up making the move from home across the pond…. here to the Bay…

Now this is the story all about how
My life got turned over like that time my brother Eamonn drove the tractor into the ditch
And I’d like to take a few minutes, so just sit down there like a good lad
And I’ll tell you how I became the coleader of a Tribe in the Bay read more

Zumba Wumba (NPSF)

Sometimes it’s really nice to try something new; to get yourself out of your comfort zone, learn a new thing, see the world from a different perspective. Props to you all for being down for that. Many of you tried Zumba today for the first time, and for Louise and I, it was our first time teaching. read more
