A man so positive, we awarded the Positivity award to him TWICE.
A beautiful thing about November Project is its consistency. Regardless of the weather. Regardless of what’s happening that week. November Project will be there. And there are few people who epitomise that value as much as Nick “Buck” Vandehey. Over the past four years since that faithful day Nick Buck Vandehey found Laura’s chalked NP promo on the Alamo Square sidewalk, Nick has been a pillar of our San Francisco Tribe. There’s no bucking the trend here!

Some of the newer members of the Tribe have yet to experience the epicness of a Nick Buck New Years Day workout-brunch party (unfortunate timing of New Years Day on a non-workout day this year). Since 2014, the Buck has regularly opened his doors to the Tribe on many occasions, whether it be a Bay to Breakers doorstep shindig/aid station or a champagne and brunch-fueled New Years Day dance party. Nick’s not in this photo enjoying the clearly hilarious joke, given he was back in the kitchen prepping breakfast sandwiches and homebrews for 40+ Tribe members…

“There’s three things you can rely on every week. NP, rungang and Coach Buck’s Track Tuesday”. Not just creating platforms for the Tribe to have an epic social life, Coach Buck dedicates his time and effort to get the Tribe faster, week in week out. Every Tuesday at 6AM, 20+ of the Tribe are out there crushing laps of Kezar stadium, getting faster and stronger under Coach’s tutelage (and with proper warmups. Something we overlook ourselves on M, W, F… eekkk! Thank you though, rungang).

We love Nick’s determinedness to show up at every workout and leave his blood, sweat and tears (and smiles of course) into the workout. A great example for many of us, co-leaders included. And it makes for a great photo 😉

Along with being one of the Tribe’s fastest marathoners, even though he will humbly never let on. Watch him closely this coming Monday in Boston! Go Buck!

Oh did we mention that he can throw a few shapes on the dance floor…

… and is quite the talented musician…

… and rivals with Chris Sheesley for the greatest NP History Lesson presentation…

… unfortunately he did have this thing growing on his lip at one stage. We’re sorry Amanda!

Friday Hills. Meeting at the bottom of the waterfall on Strawberry Hill. 6:25AM
And good luck to all our Boston runners!
