NPSF apply for #weatherproof status
As summer kicks into its full foggy swing, we see only the true hardcore athletes of NPSF brave the slightly average weather to make the workouts. Though we applied for full #weatherproof status, it was briskly denied by the Canadian tribes. Likewise, San Diego denied our #weatherSPOOF status, so I guess we’ll remain in our foggy and grey limbo.

Tribe members win bounty of swag with minimal effort
The Recruiting Challenge results are in. Congrats to Caity, Rebecca, Tantek, Yu Sung and Holly for taking up the excellent array of prizes for extremely little effort at all. The winning tally was 4 recruits. C’mon people! Perhaps to get maximum hype for a competition, we need to make sure all prizes include Laura and Paddy embarrassing themselves with their complete lack of dancing ability. On offer, we had savage bags and flat brimmed hats from our friends at The North Face, socks from our SoCal friends at Stance, and a piece of jewelry that should be on everyone’s wishlist, a RoadID wristband. As runners, adventurers and weekend warriors, there’s always a chance we can get involved in an accident, so having a piece like this can give you peace of mind and critical information to medical personnel. Remember, safety is sexy out there!

Plans begin to recruit madman & legendary trail runner to #EastBayGang
Legendary trail runner, Rickey Gates, finished his 3600 mile run from South Carolina to our own Ocean Beach yesterday evening. At an SFRC party celebrating his penultimate run on Monday, some of Rickey’s words really resonated with me about community, and about welcoming people from all walks of life into your Tribe.
When asked why has he been logging 20-50 miles a day across the country for the past 5 months?
“It’s been about meeting a lot of people…being able to walk into a place in a strange town, looking the way that I do, wearing what I call a uniform of sorts, very obviously doing something strange and being able to talk to people in this country during a time where we think we’re very divided and I would argue that we’re not actually all that divided. I think we have a whole lot in common. I’m not trying to inspire anyone to do anything, but I do believe that it’s really important for us to talk to our neighbors and that was the most important thing on this trip: talking to a lot of people that I supposedly disagree with according to statistics and news channels, so I hope that everyone else is able to do that as well.”
All across this world, there are November Project Tribes waking up, sweating and building community, week in week out. Keep welcoming people into the movement and spreading the good word!
Check out Rickey’s adventure in photos using #transamericana or on his IG page. Himself and his girlfriend are moving to Berkeley for the next year, so Scarles, keep two spots free in the East Bay Gang carpool.

Earlygang crashed by adorable puppy
Supposedly early gang spent the entirety of their workout playing with this adorable pup. But we do know that Daniel J Clayton loves his themed workouts, so perhaps the bulk of us missed out on 30 minutes of cuddling with a puppy. Damn, we missed out! And everybody, let’s wish Clayton the best of luck as he kicks off his studies over at Berkeley. This man has been a pillar of November Project SF since the early days.

Group announcements have become so boring that man falls asleep
The co-leader group announcements have become so horrendously boring, the Tribe have started to fall asleep right there on the stairs. We’ve still to determine if Shing was rocked to sleep by Paddy’s lilting voice. But if only Lindsay Bolt would have shared that coffee. It could have been the pick-me-up Shing needed.

Denver Tribe lay claim to #UltraTribe title
Some people just can’t let it go. Must be that lack of oxygen up there. Let’s resolve this shit in November, Denver. See you in the Sausalito school yard. November 18th. 5AMish. See you on the startline, Splash Wooderson.
