It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of #freefitness, it was the age of laziness, it was the epoch of community, it was the epoch of being-alone-in-your-bed, it was the season of Hugs, it was the season of No Hugs, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.

The beard-sicles are too beautiful not to include.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to fight to become the recruitment champion. What does this involve? I’m glad you asked. Beginning February 1 (that’s over two weeks away, so don’t you worry your pretty little head. We’re not starting tomorrow), you will have access to what we like to call Recruitment Papers. This document contains six copies of an invitation meant to be shared with the masses. And then brought to a workout and given to DG, Roger, and myself (Christine).

Christmas break is over and it’s back to school time. Here’s a little anatomy exercise for your brain (DG knows where that is… who knew we exercise our bodies and minds here at NP?!):
Milwaukee is unique in that each workout is preceded by a short motion picture, posted to Facebook, meant to be viewed as a wake-up call as a way to get jazzed. If you haven’t seen them, they’re bizarre – “I-don’t-know-what-I-just-watched-and-I’m-feeling-a-lot-of -emotions” weird. And that’s the point. Laughter combats taking yourself too seriously and people who don’t take themselves too seriously are more fun. If you’re following my logic… Milwaukee is fun.
Happy New Year! To quote a popular song about 2017 by Likwid, Sahlid, and Tha Meatierologyst (December 28, 2016, #milwakeupcall, for reference):
(Likwid) For 2017
We got a dance you never seen
Like them and like me
You can do the Milwaukee (Sahlid and Tha Meatierologyst: MILWAUKEE)
It’s 2017, folks, and with a new year comes a new procedure when submitting ideas to your local leaders of NP MKE. From now on, I (Christine) will take on the role of the Idea Filter, and will serve as the middle-man between your ideas and their realization as a part of a workout.
If you’re either not from Milwaukee or haven’t been going to workouts recently or haven’t been keeping up with the NP MKE social page or with Facebook in general, this may come as a shock.
NP MKE clan grew overnight-time-day (don’t get that reference? This’ll help) when 50 penguin egg ornament children were birthed/hatched/named at a Wednesday workout. Those present became parents with a partner (spouse) of their choice, and embarked on this special journey we call raising a child.
The intention of this post is to have something that can be forwarded to friends and family who don’t quite understand November Project – use it as a conversation starter, a way to put into words the feelings you experience on a bi- and tri-weekly basis, or just a place to reminisce and think “That’s totally me!” November Project means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and today we celebrate the uniqueness and universality of this group. I’m not crying. You’re crying.

How to Prepare for Winter NP-ing because we’re #weatherproof #nondwindlers (Editor’s note: all of the below assume that you are following these steps on a Tuesday or Thursday night. If not, optional Step 0 is “Wait for Tuesday or Thursday to come around, then proceed to Step 1”):
It’s Monday morning and you know what that means! (which is a good thing, because I don’t)
A few announcements:
PR Day was a great success – despite the winter closures of stairs, we were able to use the South Stumble Stairs. New Sue helped the stairs live up to their reputation… then continued to crush the workout, going down in history as the most bada$$ PR newbie. Jack, a graceful gazelle, stole the show, to the chagrin of our fast folks, but we still love him because he contributed to our competitiveness.
