I am not going to lie, I dread the winter. I love summer. I am a patio loving, 30 degrees, sports bra tan line, sweating pouring, flip flop hoarder, summer sun worshiper. But winter is coming, whether my now dry pale skin and poor circulated toes like it. So friends, find your inner Stark, throw on a toque, and just embrace it!
So some of my favourite winter things:
- The first snow fall – SO PRETTY
- Snowflakes – eyelash snowflakes, beard snowflakes – SO PRETTY
- Cuddles – X 10000 better in the winter
- Onesies and long underwear become (more) acceptable!
- It’s now acceptable to start watching Love Actually every day
- Mulled wine, hot chocolate and baileys, apple hot toddy, lemon hot toddy, chai hot toddy, basically any hot toddy
- Dogs in sweaters

Yesterday was the first “cold” weather we have had on Wednesday since last winter. For some of you, you knew what this meant – an extra layer, gloves, a little extra bounce in the bounce. For others this was holy sh*t why I am not curled up in my bed right now. For some, it WAS curled up in your bed right now. For you holy sh*ters, I am sure you came to realize how quickly those fingers dethaw, how refreshing that crisp air really is and how not letting weather stop you makes you feel pretty darn badass. With a few layers, fuck yahs and hugs we will get through this winter. Nothing makes you stronger then throwing down 50 burpees in a snowstorm. Nothing warms the soul more then high fiving a stranger with snotsicles. November project is #weatherproof. Weather impermeable. Weather resistant. Weather nonporous. There is an even a tag for when we hit a -30 degree workout ( I want this guys). The hardest thing is getting out that door. But I PROMISE you, I promise you, once you are out it is so worth it. (Or just be thankful your not NP Edmonton, Winnipeg or Iceland! )

Last week at the film screening (shout out to all those who came!), Tyler from North Face gave us a few tips for winter working out essentials:
- Layers – multiple layers are always a good idea, it is surprising how quickly you can warm up. A jacket that breaks the wind I find really helps through those skyscraper wind tunnels! And BUFFs !
- Dress for 10 degrees warmer – A rule of thumb I have been taught is dress for 10 degrees more then it is outside. So if its 5 degrees its actually 15 degrees when you are working out.
- Gloves – How can you do burpees in the winter without gloves? If you have waterproof ones – AMAZING, if not something super thick will help when it starts getting snowy, snowboarding mitts etc.
- Wool socks. Essential. We like our toes (even if they are blacktoes!)
- Give your self time to warm up. Embrace the bounce.
- Hydrate. You may not feel like you are sweating as much but you are. We are just sweaty sweaty beings.
- HAVE FUN !!!! Crazy carpets, snow angels, snow ball fights, oh the possibilities !!

What do I keep forgetting to tell you:
