Hat’s off to each and every one of you who came out this morning!
We all have our own reasons for showing up.
One obvious reason for me to show up is that I’ve pretty much committed to an indefinite verbal as a leader (I actually had a nightmare last night that I was still driving to Commonwealth at 6:10 AM, tears streaming down my face because I was late knowing that Andrew and Nadim were probably already writing a “We Missed You” blog) but there are so many more reasons that I show up. I knew that both Nadim and Andrew would be there this morning, which is always a good reason to show up. We really have the best time together (I hope you can all see it)! I also showed up because I was excited to see my friends who crushed their races this weekend. I’m so proud of everyone who showed incredible commitment and dedication to their training and toed that start line and raced everything. You all inspire me! This morning I also showed up to test myself and do a little Old ’96er gut check. I needed to prep myself to feel completely uncomfortable for 59 minutes next week!
While the specific reasons for showing up each morning are slightly different there are some things that never change. This community energizes me. Selfishly I get to gift myself with 30 minutes of fitness, human interaction, and positivity. Receiving all of this before 7 AM allows me to be more present for others for the rest of the day. It makes me a better me!
Why did you choose to show up this morning?
