Has it been a month already? August has come and gone so quickly. The weather has not helped with that either. It has been OK recently– mornings in the 70s, humidity low. Just your typical day. Today, we got a taste of that summer weather. Humidity, my friend, you decided to show up today and we thank you. We thank you for making us work harder. We thank you for making us sweat. We thank you for making those sweaty hugs mean so much more. The power and stress that you bring on a morning like today pushes us harder, faster, stronger, sweatier.
Bridge workouts come once a month and hit you in the mouth. Starting on Randall’s Island, one is in the bag before the bounce. Everyone had a bit of a 5th wheel problem today too. How many people did you ask to come with you to next week’s workout? I got like 6 #VERBALS. No big deal or anything. Did anyone leave with a phone number? Nevermind. Today was a STRONG 45 minutes of bridges and flats. Everyone after the workout had the same feeling. FUCK YEA. Throw some burpees, dips and pushups and we call that a workout.
Today the Positivity Award went to Jason. He has had back problems, injuries, and other shit going on but he shows up. He is out there doing whatever is asked. Today, he was going to help with some #GrassrootsGear but said, “No, I can’t help today. I promised someone I would workout with them.” He them got people to push themselves all workout. Jason everyone.
FRIDAY’S WORKOUT: 105th and Westside Highway, ish. It is below the dog run, but you need to enter from Riverside Dr. at 99th OR before and run up the Westside Highway Path.
