The Reviews Are In- Summit 10 Rocked!

It’s been almost two weeks since we descended on Philadelphia with about 600 people from November Project cities all over the world! This jam-packed weekend brought us opportunities to hang with our friends, make new friends, and reunite with friends from other cities! Summit is definitely the one time of year when we can truly appreciate just how global this community is!

You all know your leaders can gush for a whole blog, but we know you’re tired of hearing from us all the time! So instead, please enjoy these first-hand accounts from your fellow New Yorkers!

Holy cow, Summit. Three words can kinda sum it up – hype, support, community. This was my first summit, while I had some ideas how it’d go – this year blew me away. The community just hyped and greeted each other constantly with ‘hey NP!’, and it was so linking and connective. And I cannot wait for the next one. Shout out to the DC dress crew for all but adopting me while running. – Grace T

As a “Rocky,” I knew there was no way I could miss out on NP Summit in Philadelphia and running those famous stairs! Between catching up with OG NPers from my DC days, meeting folks from across the country, and growing closer with the NYC crew, this weekend far exceeded my expectations. Thanks for the reminder of why I joined NP in the first place (fitness, friends, and FOOD)! -Rocky L

After 5 years of being a part of NP I finally made it to my first summit and it DID NOT disappoint!  The sound of 500 or so people yelling “FUCK YEA” in unison was music to my ears.  I met so many people from other NP cities and had a blast all around.  Can’t wait for next year! -Jillian G

This was my third time attending Summit. I was only able to make it to the Saturday workout. The amount of fun I had, more than made up for the short time I was there! Running up the museum steps to Rocky’s soundtrack was priceless. Thank you NP!! -Patricia N

It was lovely just being able to get together but when you combine that with all the smiling happy faces of everyone enjoying free fitness, and the hype we bring each other it truly doesn’t get much better than that! -Justin R

NYC celebrates a successful weekend at Brooklyn Bowl!

This was my second summit. I had planned to stay only for one day, but the event was so well done and full of activity, I regret not doing both days. The weather was near perfect and there was a lot on the itinerary — places to eat at, museums to visit, tours to take. The winding cheer tunnel after Saturday’s workout was pretty special. It also helps that you don’t need a car in Philly. The city is dense and relatively inexpensive. It was great to meet people from other chapters, and a rare pleasure to run into other NPers randomly on the street and join them as friends. It felt kind of like freshman year in college … or speaking to a few of my chapter-mates who set aside time to go to a Harry Potter exhibit, first day at Hogwarts. Having missed the start of the tours, I ran into a group in Rittenhouse Square and tagged along. Later, after my chaptermates from NYC had claimed a table in Reading Terminal Market, and then started to drift off, I wasn’t alone for long as NPers from DC arrived to claim their spots. As proof of my sentiment, I lingered in Reading Market for a little too long, waiting for Beiler’s donuts, I had to sprint to the train station in 10 minutes to catch my train back to the city. And I didn’t even get my donut! In retrospect, I could have just sacrificed the Amtrak ticket and headed back to the city on NJ Transit. Oh well, Philly will always be there. -Andrew C

The Emily Tour was sick. Included a nap, meeting her parents, going to the Franklin Fountain which I genuinely thought was a “water fountain in the park” but it was an old school ice cream place. We learned about Quakerism, Betsy’s house, the Old City architecture and the Bell. The NP camaraderie, the passion, the laughs, and love for running filled our hearts. -Lina P

Ice cream for everyone!

Summit was a blast! It was such an amazing opportunity to bond with NYC and Brooklyn members and meet NPers from all over. The best part was running through that epic cheer squad TWICE. I was feeling pretty miserable by mile 12+ of the race and the energy coming from the NP cheer squad gave me the boost I needed to finish the half. 10/10 would recommend! -Sage A

That weekend was such an amazing experience with NPers from all over. My favorite moments were the bounces (at the workout and on race day), running the rocky stairs with the iconic music, and of course the cheer squad. Best cheer squad EVER. My heart rate and pace went crazy (less crazy on the way back as I was dead). Can’t wait for the next one. -Severine T

As you can see, we had absolutely no fun in the City of Brotherly Love! We’d like to thank NP Philly for hosting us and for all the effort they put into making it such an epic weekend! We hope to see even more of our NYC community at next year’s Summit! We promise there is nothing like it and you won’t regret it!

  1. Love this! I have participated in November Project workouts in Orlando, FL and while on vacation in Philly. I would love to start one near me! How would I do that?
