Welcome, Tribe.

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest!  What you’ve heard about us is correct.  Our coffee game is second to none; if you think I’m talking about Starbucks, Seattle’s Best or Tully’s, you’re sorely misinformed.  We’re still a little grungy; it’s not all flannels and guitar riffs anymore, but we’re still known to let our dirty hair down every once in a while.    The mountains and nature in the area will leave you in awe.  Nestled between the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, we’ve grown fond of our [ridiculous] views.  And yes, it rains here.  A lot.  And that’s how we like it. read more

*Urgent: Please Read*

Every year during the summer months, Arizona enters into what we call monsoon season. Monsoon season brings with it summer storms that can be visually spectacular. If you haven’t seen a lightning storm in Arizona you are missing out because they light up the sky. Last night’s storm was no different. The lightning show was breathtaking! But, these lightning strikes can be dangerous and the damaging winds that often accompany them can down trees and snap power lines. read more

The First Pony Express

Today was awesome.

It was #NP_PHX ‘s first PR workout and EVERYONE absolutely crushed it.

I thought for sure it would be a ghost town this morning as it was well into the 90s by sunrise and schools started up again this week, but again the tribe proved me wrong. I don’t know why it hasn’t gotten through my thick skull that this group is CRAZY #weatherproof and isn’t even the least bit phased by excessive heat warnings or threats of being late to class. read more

“Oh…people will come”

This morning one of my patients at the hospital was watching the movie Field of Dreams. I walked into his room during the scene where Ray and Terence Mann are just standing there dumbfounded as the baseball players are just coming out of the cornfields in droves to play at the field that Ray built. I couldn’t help but laugh because my brother and I had shared an almost identical moment this morning as we stood there in amazement at the number of new faces that just continued to roll into the parking lot and take off toward the stairs. read more

Phoenix Rising

Well hello there.

While the majority of you are all across the country and jumping for joy over the thought of summer, we here in Phoenix cringe at the very idea of it. The entire city becomes a ghost town in the summer time. And yes…there are actually tumbleweeds blowing across our deserted streets. The “snow birds” flock away, the baseball stadiums are boarded up, and the golf clubs are left strewn across the streets because they will melt your hand off if you attempt to touch them. It’s a dry heat, but it’s no joke. read more

April but not fooled (CHI)

This picture really sums up how amazing our start to the day was.

We talk about health and fitness. A lot. However, another extremely important part of what we do is creating a strong supportive community that allows all people who participate with us to feel safe and comfortable. The willingness to change, and just as important, the hard work that accompanies that change puts many people in a vulnerable position. One where they question themselves about how they look, how the next person is thinking about them and their effort, should I give up, should I keep going. read more

To PR a J-Baby (LAX)

For weeks now, our beloved bowl has been closed off to us. Construction has taken over the stairs we happily donate our sweat to on the weekly. Does that stop NP LAX from showing up? You’re damn right it doesn’t. NP is #constructionproof… we run, jump, and crowd surf wherever we can find an inch of space. read more

The Tweener Takeover (NPSF)

As JustClayton was off skiing for the week (here’s a photo that Amber sent us), we needed someone to step up to the mark and handle the 5:30am early gang. And who should be the first person to come to mind, only the leader of the infamous Tweeners, the bearded Jorge Moreno. Luckily, we axed that idea when we realised Jogi rarely gets out of bed except for promises of baked goods or someone asks for large pieces of construction equipment. read more

Who Brought the Fog Machine?

It’s Wednesday PR day in Chicago, and the headliner #NP_Chi has a list of serious demands for the show.

1. Fog Machine that pumps out an unadulterated 100,000 cu.ft/minute.  Not one skyscraper is to be visible. For that matter neither are cars, the sun, or the lake.

2. Tons of speed. We’re talking Motley Crue levels of speed. Well maybe not that much, or even that kind, but you dont get #racingfit by having a mellow PR Day. read more
