Fleur-de-Lis, Fitness fo Free (IND)

Happy Race Day (and Mardi Gras too I guess) everyone! Fat Tuesday gave way to Fit Wednesday as racers were up early and in it to win it this morning. We had PRs galore, newbies from all over, and attitudes to inspire even the most ardent Race Day protesters (got ya, Howard)!

Workout

Your typical Race Day buffet: up-n-over, 50 situps, u-n-o, 50 pushups, u-n-o, 50 mtn climbers, u-n-o, 25 burpees (don’t forget ’em; they’re the icing on the cake; it’s a cake made with brawn, power, and might…and love), finish off w a nice cold u-n-o.  A thorough ass-kicking. read more

NP Love: Part 5 (DCA)

This week has been incredible. We’ve heard from Tribe members far and wide about their take on NP LOVE. Friendships, relationships, and marriages are constantly evolving- and there’s no question November Project plays a role in that evolution.

I have been honored, humbled, and amazed by the posts this week. To everyone who has written- thank you. I asked you to be personal and bear your souls for all the world to see and you did not let me down. This Tribe fucking rules. To everyone who has read and kept up with the NP Love series, thank you. I sincerely hope you have felt loved and appreciated and empowered by November Project. read more

Love is in the st(Air)s (IND)

We love that YOU love NP! YOU are what drives this thing, what keeps it going, what gets people up early and in shape!

Workout

This one was simple (to tell, not to do): an up-n-over with lunges across the east top platform, burpee-broad-jumps across the west. Boat-holds, valentines-making, and decline pushups at the north platform. read more

NP Love: Part 3 (DCA)

“There are good ships and wood ships, ships that sail the sea, but the best ships are friendships- and may they always be!” – Irish Proverb.

This latest installment of our NP love series is about friendship, and how November Project strengthens, deepens and progresses relationships. We’ll hear from a tremendous trio- James, Packy, and Jason. They are lovable, loud, and overall exceptional people.  These rambunctious rugby bros have been spreading the love since day 1- love for NP, love for the DC Tribe, and love for each other. It is awesome to see. But don’t just take my word for it- here’s Jason, James and Packy’s version of NP LOVE: read more

Turty Tree! (Irish for 33)

That. Just. Happened.

33 people showed up to the 33rd NP Tribe’s 33rd free workout. AND 33 happens to be Dave Camous’s favorite number.

We celebrated …by hugging, running, planking and with wheel-barrel push-ups of course!!!

Full muscle fiber workout designed by mastermind co-leader Travis: everybody side-shuffle to dock #1 >> v-tuck core exercise x10 >> side-shuff back >> run to dock #2 for 1-minute (or however long) plank (Cc: NP_SEA) >> sprint/race someone up the ramp >> find a partner, grab their ankles and squat x10 while they do 10 push-ups; there you have a wheel barrel push up (pictured above) or opt for 10 fuck-yeah push-ups >> repeat! read more

Just show up (albeit with your posse/entourage!)

World, meet Hung. A pillar Tribe member of November Project Orlando (outfitting Wednesday mornings with lights/yoga mats/exercise gadgets), we are honored to have him carry the Positivity Award this past month and share his story. Thank you, Hung, for showing up! Here we go:

Alligator

Positivity doesn’t seem to match my personality. I may have a positive outlook but I am more of a defensive pessimist. I prep for obstacles and contingencies while continuing to move forward. (Ask me offline for examples of my just-in-case planning). I am working on being more equanimous — enjoying the highs and embracing the lows but not dwelling on either. read more

Boyz-(and Girlz)-n-the-Hood(s) (IND)

The boys in the hood may always be hard, but so are the burpees and lunges, maybe harder (at least it feels that way at 6am).DSC_0196

Crew-counting-Colleen was absent today due to “work” in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, but 6:15 was the clear winner numbers-wise. But moving right along into February today means that spring is just around the corner, and spring = recruiting season at NP. There’s still hope, 5:28; keep the faith! read more

The Return Part 2: The Sequel (DCA)

Wednesdays are special at #NP_DC. Sure, Meridian (and Capitol Hill) Mondays give us a chance to nom on some #hillsforbreakfast, and Fridays let us explore the nooks and crannies of our incredible city, but Wednesdays, Wednesdays are something else. Wednesday we get to go back to where it all began, two dudes at Lincoln- which became 5 people, which became 25, which became 500. We get to stand in awe of the most beautiful sunrises, illuminating our nation’s capital. We get to look Abe in the eyes as we charge up the stairs, gasping for air, trying to get one more set in. We are lucky for Wednesdays- and for Lincoln. read more

The Washing Machine (IND)

DSC_0852

This one was fresh. . . fresh to def, fresh linen status, in fact. Shaw hit us up with an original workout coined “The Washing Machine,” and she’s a beaut. We were all newbies for the workout, and we had one oldie we always miss dearly in Macko and one real-life newbie in Brian. Thanks for #justshowup-ing! Weather was decent for January, groups were solid, and Patrick-style hugs were fantastic! read more

20. 17. Let’s Do It! (IND)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

No better way to kick things off than by showing that you are absolutely WEATHERPROOF. The temp was low (~20 F), but the real killer factor was the wind, which was just wicked. No worries though; a bunch of badasses #justshowup at these Indianapolis workouts, so let the wind blow, let the storm rage on . . . the cold never bothered us anyway. read more
