It was the second week of summer camp at Town Center and the entire tribe stood by impatient as Camp Counselor John spoke with the authorities. The authorizes? You might be thinking. Did we do something? Yes, we did, we had just a bit too much spirit for the locals and were now being told to keep it down so people could sleep on this Wednesday morning. Keep it down? More like keep it up and come joins us!
Naturally, as all tribes do, we took this encounter in-stride and took to the streets on a mini field trip, stopping by Dirt Lake Pound for a camp unifying bounce and some quick buddy system style partner workouts because everyone needs a buddy!
We followed this with a brisk run around Dirt Lake Pound were we traveled down through lush green valley’s on the pounds winging trail to return back to base camp for a little more team building partner burpees and hoisties. It was at this juncture that the entire tribe reveled in new camper Deloris’s unbridled zest for life as she joyfully rolled through Dirt Lake Pound’s signature dirt prairies with no regard. It was a beautiful thing to watch.
We then took to climbing the near by snowy peaks of South Parking Garage 2 to breath in some fresh mountain air before assenting back down the freshly powdered slopes for an intense tribe showdown. It is here that the tribe did battle via a plank-off leaving both Heather and Mike as the victors for the day with times 5 minutes and 45 second because both of their parents had arrive to pick them up for the day.
Overall it was a beautiful day at Town Center with 40 of our closest friends but we are all looking forward to returning to basecamp at Mt. Trashmore next week for PR Day.
