Wednesdays are pretty rad if you ask me. Folks gather all over the globe in twenty-nine cities to get fit and make lasting friendships, all for free.
This morning, the movement made national news on Good Morning America – nice work NYC, DC and CHI, we’re proud of y’all and were happy to see a few NP PHL folks representing the tribe!
Here in Philly this morning it was business as usual for Philly Beer Week – a yearly event that celebrates local and national breweries with what seems like a trillion events over a ten day period. For the last three years (can any of y’all believe we have done anything for three consecutive years? I’d say we’re aging pretty darn well) we have participated in our Shoes and Brews event. The concept is easy, bring a pair (or 10) of shoes to donate to our friends at Back on My Feet, leave with a tasty brew! This year the brews were brought to us by Goose Island and our very own Nick (who also brought two recruits along with him for workout Mark and Dan, also with Goose Island). Cheers dudes!
The work out was tough this morning. Suicides to start. Then grab a partner for ten leg throws at the bottom of the steps. On each landing on the way up (five in all) turn and face the city and do two squats. When you reach the top, grab a partner and do ten partner push-ups. Recover on the way back down. Restart with nine leg throws, three squats on each landing and nine partner push-ups at the top – counting up on the squats and down with a partner. Y’all were moving and sweating and smiling! It was a lovely sight to see!
Thanks to all who came out for the party! We hope to see you all again on Friday at Lemon Hill!
