Sunday, November 1, 2015. 50,000 runners will be headed from Staten Island to Central Park on at 26.2 mile, 5 borough encompassing tour of New York City. That’s right, the New York City Marathon is less than 10 days away and they hype of this city is building. And with that hype, we are buliding up a monumental week of #HYPE, of #FREEFITNESS, and a TOTAL CITY TAKEOVER that will lead to #WORLDTAKEOVER.
With all that, we kept the week’s schedule pretty light when it comes to different things going on.
MONDAY: 6:10 a.m. HILL WORKOUT. 65th & West Drive in Central Park (meet on the bench on the right in the photo below). We will be doing hills, with some of that being the very same hill those running on Sunday will have to conquer for that last 200m to get the medal. Afterwards, we have been cordially invited to the ribbon cutting of the Marathon Pavilion aka that HUGE tent behind Tavern on the Green. First 100 people get free shit.
TUESDAY: Mountain Athletics: 6:30PM at Columbus Circle. Our friends over at The North Face have a FREE weekly workout Mountain Athletics. Trainers will take you through a session of either strength, agility, or work capacity and send you on your way to hit the sack, set your alarm and get some sleep before tomorrow morning.
WEDNESDAY: 5:28/6:28 a.m. Randall’s Island Footbridge. This is our #GRASSROOTSGEAR day and bridge workout. Special guests scheduled. Honorable attendees have RSVP’d. All that needs to be done, is log in to the TRACKER at tracking.november-project.com. Don’t miss this workout, as #MILE7 special swag will be revealed and available for purchase after the workout- $5, CASH ONLY. If you are running some race later in the week, we need you. If you are volunteering at some race, we need you. EVERYONE.
For those that may want to get in some light miles that night, November Project NYC Team Captain Myles Fennon, will be leading a group run from the Marathon Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. Great way to shake out the legs and get to meet some other runners. Invite everyone, if you don’t want to run, we need a strong crew to welcome the runners back, so a cheer station is needed. Yea, we went there. Facebook Invite
THURSDAY: Mountain Athletics: PART II. Our friends are bringing you another hard hitting workout, same time, different location. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Northern side of Union Square.
FRIDAY: Bethesda Fountain, 6:25 a.m. Moving up the start time, so be there ON TIME. What does that mean? 6:25 a.m. Six twenty-five a.m. Marathon swagg will be sold at this workout as well. $5, bring cash. REMEMBER: tracking.november-project.com
SATURDAY: Rest, Recover, visit John at the Expo, and get to sleep early. Tomorrow is a HUGE DAY.
SUNDAY: #MILE7 is happening. Oh yea, because its going to be the most outlandish water station/cheer zone at the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon. If you are volunteer and have questions, hit up Jackie or Nina. Otherwise, here are some tips for those volunteering at #Mile7.
1. Always hold the cup from the bottom. This helps the runners
2. Make Eye Contact with the runners, it will help make sure they don’t spill on themselves, but more importantly spill on you
3. Wear a hat. No hair in the Gatorade makes for better Gatorade.
4. Cheer louder than you ever have before when one of the 30+ November Project runners from across North America comes storming by.
Post race gathering will be at Brother Jimmy’s. RSVP to the E-vite for more details. Marathoners plan to get there after 5:00 p.m. Everyone else assemble as the welcoming party before.
MONDAY: Easy now. Just wait, something big is coming NEXT WEEKEND. #BetterThanBedtime. But more on that when you sleep. Save the date: 11.08.15.
So yea, this is a lot.Share via socials:
