Okay the Fix50 nightmare is now fixed and people can resume with their weekly travels to NP_SMF …. umm not quite yet. As we arrived to our 6:25AM meeting spot for today’s workout, the sidewalks and certain lanes of the roads surrounding the State Capitol building were closed not due to construction or anything like that, but because of the USATF Championships going on in Sacramento starting Wednesday and running through this weekend. With most of the events being held at Hornet Stadium on the campus of CSU Sacramento, the shot-putters stage their event in front of the West Steps of the Capitol. We promise next week things should be back to normal and people can get in for their weekly Wednesday morning workouts without any issues.
Nonetheless, the small group still gathered maneuvering through closed sidewalks to get to our meeting spot. Co-leaders Haley and Chris were in attendance along with familiar face Chris and fairly newbie David for today’s kick-ass workout. Co-leader Stephanie is working out with the NP tribe in NOLA getting some ideas to grow our group here in Sacramento.
After some quick witted humor and banter the workout started with a 1-mile warm-up around the Capitol grounds before mixing in some various strength exercises and sprints. The sweat inducing routine included push-ups, burpees, crunches, jump-squats, and planks just to name a few.
Make a verbal and “join us every Wed at 6:25AM at the State Capitol Building for @Nov_ProjectSMF. #FreeFitness #NP_SMF #JustShowUp #Verbal” <—- Hey look you can cut and paste that and Tweet it!
