I Blinked (YEG)

After what we’ve officially declared to be the longest unofficial staring contest in NP history, I blinked! It started Friday morning and on the honour system (since we each had to get to work) we each declared to have made it through Friday, Saturday (yes, I guess Nadim and Andrew also sleep with their eyes open), and half of Sunday. The snow pellets to my eyeballs finally did me in!

There as another record broken during this official, unofficial staring contest. We have set the record for latest ever NP Canada blog to be published. I think the record previously set by Andrew was a Saturday morning blog – only about 12 hours outside the required posting window. Today, we’ve surpassed that by a long shot! Sorry for anyone who was worried about our whereabouts. No, we didn’t get eaten by coyotes, or buried in the snow, or run over by Segways. We were simply engaged in a lengthy staring contest that alas, I did not win.

Friday was awesome! I loved the energy and joy that was evident on the hill. Maybe it was the balmy weather or the Christmas spirit that was on display, perhaps it was simply being surrounded by people who gift themselves with fitness and community to kick off their day – but I left with my heart full and a smile that did not disappear all day. Thank you!

Monday, we will begin our December Christmas tree/lights tour. Meet at the Legislature Front Steps for a “Rocking around the Christmas Tree” workout.
