As we head into the final week of 2017, we begin to look forward to 2018. If you are like most people then you see January as a yearly reset. A fresh start. Most of us set new year resolutions, and most of us give up on those before Valentine’s day. If you’ve been to a workout in the last few weeks then you have heard Kait and I mention setting goals for next year. Not much has been expanded on this, but that is about to change (cue dramatic music)!
We all set different goals for each year. Some of us want to read “x” amount of books, some want to visit “x” amounts of new places, and others want to volunteer more. Goals are great because they give us a reason to get shit done. Since we are a #freefitness community, we are focusing on setting some fitness goals. Being #accountabilibuddies, Kait and I sat down the other night and decided that we would set each other’s goals. Here is the result:
Kait: Jesse:
5k – 21:00 5k – sub 19
6k – 24:00 6k – 22:25
10k – sub 44 10k – sub 42
Half – 1:37 Half – 1:30
Full – 3:40 Full – BQ
Push-ups unbroken – 38 Push-ups unbroken – 75
Sebastians – 92 Sebastians – 125
Now it is your turn. Over this final week of December we are encouraging you to think of some goals for yourself or get together with your #accountabilibuddy and set some for each other. Feel free to use the same criteria we did or come up with your own categories/events. I am working on figuring out some type of rewards for accomplishing goals. As a way of adding accountability, we will check in with you quarterly. This isn’t meant to add pressure, but rather encourage you to get shit done! Who knows maybe it will provide a little extra pep in your step on PR day and you’ll get that free salad!
Do Good, LA!
Notes:
New Years Day – We’re going to meet at the Observatory and kick the year off on the right foot. Time is TBD at the moment.
