Figure Eights & Form (PHL)

Today we were hyped! It’s one of the biggest racing weeks of the year here in Philadelphia – it’s Broad Street Run week!

The bounce was loud, the tribe was hoppin and we started out with suicides on The Steps before breaking down into two teams. One ran to the left, the other to the right and they crisscrossed in at the middle where our figure eight loop met. At the top of the eight, 25 perfect form push-ups were performed, and that the bottom 25 perfect form plank oblique dips. Each lap completed you could take one rep off of the total. The goal was not to run super fast, but to focus on form and strength.

We had some unintentional visitors today – Fox29 News was at the workout – at first they were FullSizeRender (43)concerned we were going to be in the way of their shot, then once they were shooting they wanted more of us for a “better shot.” – A young couple was taking their engagement photos this morning as well. We wound up in a lot of their photos, but they gladly smooched and smiled the entire time and I think we’ll see them at more workouts soon (in the proper gear ready to workout, of course). What a fun way to start the day for all.
