Explore Your City

This morning we rocked up to a grassy knoll in the middle of Mission Hill (ok, maybe it was more like a hay-y hill due to the lack of rain, but it looked like it was at least grass at one point). What we found was a bit of a gem. A total diamond in the rough. We all know the Mission Hill/Longwood area isn’t always the safest place in Boston, but November Project is all about exploring your entire city, good and bad—and yes every now and then we like to take you to places that aren’t going to appear on BuzzFeed’s New England’s Safest Neighborhoods. We do this, not to scare you, but to pull you off your usual route, to show you our entire city, and to see if we can lead you to some diamond in the rough.

This city is huge, and despite how small it can feel when you run into someone with grassroots gear on the street, there’s always new places to explore and new people to meet.

This morning was Capozzi’s find. A park not 100 feet away from a workout we did just a few months ago. Still totally new, totally fun, and with a total kickass view. I didn’t know it was there. You didn’t know it was there (…probably).

The point I’m trying to make is, next time you’re running to a Monday location, or your riding your bike through the city, I encourage you to go off the beaten path. Ok, maybe do it with a friend ’cause ‘Safety Third’ and all. And don’t walk around with a ton of benjamins hanging out of your mouth like an idiot… But take a look around, see this city for what it is. And love it for its beauty and its flaws. We know Boston has a lot of both. But to me—Boston is full of diamonds. We just have to find them. And then throw down a kickass workout on, in, and next to them.

If you joined us this morning you may have had trouble running home, or shampooing your hair, cause the workout this morning was the real deal. Even Malcolm got tired. I’m happy to say that makes me know I did my job. Keep showing up no matter the location expecting a new, fun, fresh, kickass workout regardless of the day. We work hard to make them that way, and love when we do just that. See you Wednesday for PR Day**!

Much Love,
