Chicago Marathon Weekend Information Station (CHI)

It’s Chicago Marathon week, aka the best week in Chicago. Time for our city to shine. We’ve rounded up all the events going down into one handy-dandy place.

Note: if any of these event links don’t work, please join our social page and that should resolve the issue. If you are just looking for the race spreadsheet, it can be found here.

Friday, October 11
November Project Chicago Friday workout. 6:00 am. The Bean.
Recipe for an incredible workout: regular Friday location, regular Friday time, $0, NP_CHI crew + YOU. If you’re running the marathon, there will be an option for yoga to get you mentally ready for your big day. If you have a yoga mat or an extra for a friend, please bring it! Sharing is caring. Yes, traverbalers, we will be tagging–we’ve got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to snag an NP Chicago Marathon tag.

Nike Pop-Up Relay Race.  6:00 pm. Soldier Field.
Nike Chicago is hosting a 4x800m relay race. There are six NP_CHI teams representing at the race. Lots of fun, lots of cheering.

Take The Bridge. 8:30 pm. Lululemon North Avenue.
The original unsanctioned road race is coming back to Chicago for another epic battle for the bridge. NP_CHI will be out to race and cheer. Race proceeds will be donated to Dare2Tri, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, that empowers disabled athletes to remain active, build confidence, autonomy, and self-worth in both sports and in other areas of life.

Saturday, October 12
Pizza Mile.  10:30 am. Montrose Lakefront Track. (Facebook event)
Second annual pizza mile, now with a relay option! One square of pizza, one lap of track, two or four times. Cheering is free but participation is $4 to cover the cost of the pizza. Shoutout to our friends at D’Agostinos for hooking us up with the nosh and Knockaround for hooking us up with the prizes. Sign up here so we can order appropriately.

Sunday, October 13
Race day.
Let’s forkin’ go! Time to take a victory lap around Chicago to celebrate the hours and hours and miles upon miles of training you’ve put in. If you’re running, please add yourself to our spreadsheet so that we can watch and cheer for you. There will also be a pre-race bounce hosted by one of NP_CHI’s members at 6:10am at the Southeast corner of Michigan Avenue and Congress. (Facebook event)

Cheer Station. 8:30 am. Wentworth & 26th Street. (Facebook event)
Marathon Sunday is the best day in the city of Chicago. Tens of thousands of runners from all over the world will be out on the course and it’s our mission to energize every last one of them. Pack your cowbells, pack your costumes, pack your signs, and most importantly, pack that positive energy. We’ll be at Mile 22 to high five, cheer and applaud every runner out there. If you’d like to bring food or drink, please do! We’re out there all day.

After Party. 5:00 pm. D’Agostino’s Pizza & Pub Wrigleyville. (Facebook event)
Join us at D’Agostino’s Wrigleyville to celebrate. Marathon finishers can bring their medal for a free slice of pizza or a free beer. A full menu and full bar will be available to order dinner and drinks.  Bring your friends, family, and any new friends you make over the weekend!

Monday, October 14
November Project Chicago Pop-Up. 6:00 am. The Field Museum. (Facebook event)
We’re keeping the tradition alive by hosting a special post-Marathon pop-up workout at the Field Museum on Monday morning. Again, we’ll have stretching and yoga available for those with wobbly legs. We recommend taking public transportation, biking or Divvy to this workout as parking in the area is limited and the parking garage prices will be full priced that morning. Yes, traverbalers, we will be tagging. We’ve got a second, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to snag an NP Chicago Marathon tag.
