Born this way [MTL]

Wisconsin notes:

  • Happy Pride 2017! #fiertemontreal #montrealpride
  • NP Social at Benelux on Sunday at 8pm
  • Hills guys, hills.

This morning was filled with power, love, booty, and rainbow shirts. Speaking of, let’s talk about rainbow shirts.

This morning we tagged with the colours of the rainbow in support of Montréal Pride, as well as in order to show that we are allies. Yet, your cool new shirt is not enough. In fact, don’t even think about wearing it unless you are committed to the following: read more

Guess who’s back back back… [MTL]

WISCONSIN NOTES:

  • Mila missed you all, duh.
  • Marie-Hélène and Sulay are back-to-back wall sit bosses.
  • Nadine is always late and therefore misses special announcements like PG-13 days where we censor swearing.
  • NP social August 17th.
  • NP recruitment run August 20th.

HI FRIENDS! I missed you! SO MUCH. Like, so so so much. Infinity amount, even.

I missed your hugs, I missed your smiles, and I missed swearing in French. Another big thing that I missed was the opportunity to watch so many of you lead the tribe in your own quirky and creative ways. You guys are amazing and Derek raved about you all every single week. read more

Toilet paper rolls: a tribe divided [MTL]

WISCONSIN NOTES:

  • SUNSHINE. GUYS. I SWEAR.
  • NP Summit 5.0 happening this weekend! Run.Party.Repeat. Details here.
  • Call of Valhalla obstacle race/escape room team + volunteering (i.e. if you volunteer then your entry fee is covered). We’re putting in a team. Hit us up if you want in.

This morning the tribe really brought it. Everyone worked hard, everyone tabata-ed the shit out of those 3-foot cement stairs, everyone lay in the wet grass with pride. And yet no one brought it more than mother nature herself who recruited the sunshine this AM and gave us that warm, reassuring, glow – to announce to us that summer is here. #recruiteverything read more

Say FROMAGE [MTL]

WISCONSIN NOTES:

  • This morning we shot Nerds vs. Jocks themed #yearbookphotos. To be released worldwide on June 6th. #feelhype
  • This morning we learned fun facts. #feelsomuchhype
  • This morning we got further excited about NP5UMMIT coming up June 9th – 11th in Boston. #feeltheabsolutemosthype

What a swell day to be alive and to bounce around the Old Port wearing suspenders and baseball caps.

Our first Yearbook Photos session was a raging success thanks to Savannah, who always has our backs (and makes our fronts look hella good). The pictures will be officially dropped on June 6th along with the yearbook photos of all 40+ other November Project tribes in this wonderful world of ours. But let me tell ya, from a first pass looking at these pictures, we look damn good. I mean, full-on geeks and weirdos for having outdoor adult costumed photo shoots, but damn good. read more

HBD city of Montréal [MTL]

WISCONSIN NOTES/NOTES DU WISCONSIN:

  • This gorgeous city that we call home turned 375 today, despite not looking a day over 374.
  • Justin Trudeau was 100 metres from us and didn’t even come do a single push-up. How rude.
  • Pop-up workout (featuring donuts/coffee and prizes) at Maison de la Course Griffintown this Saturday at 9:29am
  • NP Summit June 9th-11th. Let us know if you need help finding a ride or accommodations. Details here.
  • Heather is POSITIVE.
  • Next week is yearbook photos – Nerds vs. Jocks edition so dress accordingly.

HAPPY FECKIN’ BIRTHDAY VILLE DE MONTREAL, YOU BEAUTIFUL MAGNIFICENT CREATURE.

Today we celebrated you, in all your glory, by doing 375 reps of approximately everything. Although our arms are now too jello to raise our glasses to you, please imagine figurative raising. We’ll try again tomorrow when sensation has returned. On a related note, whose idea was it to run a 375 metres sprint…twice? And yet, somehow all of these beautiful people still had smiles on their faces. Now that’s the good stuff. read more

Farewell, friend [MTL]

Wisconsin Notes:

  • Ben O’Meara. Forever remembered for his belly laugh and tight hugs. This isn’t a blog post to just glance at the Wisconsin notes and gloss over. Read this one.
  • The NorthFace/NP shop and hangout night. RSVP via Facebook
  • NP Summit June 9th – 11th in Boston. More details here

This weekend the tribe (no, not Montréal specifically, but rather, the global NP tribe) lost an amazing soul. This is Ben.

Ben was a core NP member who, before NP WOO was born, used to drive the hour and a half that it took to get to the Boston workouts at what we formally call “ass o’clock”. Not only was he an enormous supporter of the movement, but he also went out of his way to lift up every single human he met. read more

When cities collide – Guest blog by Work it YOW [MTL]

WISCONSIN NOTES:

  • The first edition of the Mtl vs Ott Fit Off was a banging success. Duh.
  • Guest blog by the lovely folk of Work it YOW.
  • Be there Wednesday.

Below are the beautiful sentiments of Work it YOW (Ottawa’s killer pledge tribe) on the afternoon of sweaty loving and good times that was shared.

“There has been so much excitement building up to this weekend’s fit off. What an awesome way to spend a Sunday meeting friends cross-provinces. We finally got those people out who aren’t tough enough for 6:29am start time. Luckily for them, they got to experience what it’s like to be #weatherproof– after three days of sunny and hot weather, the November Project Gods had to put us in our place and remember what we’re all about. So thank you for that. Those newbies got to experience what it’s like to be kinda badass. And was this group ever badass. I think there was more time spent on the ground with wet bums. on hands racing fearlessly for the retrieval of tennis balls during hungry hippos. Partner baseball diamond sprints rounding the bases got us sweating. Huckle buckle created tight relationships and hips-in opportunities or connecting less than comfortable body parts together with strangers. read more

April showers [MTL]

Wisconsin notes:

  • It’s still raining. And yet, lots of new faces, lots of stranger hugs.
  • City tag announced + tagging to start as soon as said ^ rain stops. Bring a shirt.
  • April 30th – #fitoff against Ottawa
  • Recruitment challenge was a success. Prizes were won. Bring friends and you will be showered in lulu gear, running shoes, and chocolate.
  • The North Face shop night – details below

First off, to explain what Wisconsin notes are:

Dan Graham (DG), the big bro of NP co-founder Brogan Graham and the only leader to have ever started 2 tribes (Madison and later Milwaukee), hated the long, rambly posts that his brother would write. He demanded quickie recaps at the top. Thus was born the Wisconsin note. read more
