November Project Baltimore —

Can we get an “AWWwwwWWWwww Yeah??”

Ok, a little louder for the people in the back — AWWWwwWWwWWWW YEAHHH!

Yes, ok, that’s good. Let us start off by saying we miss the $h*t out of you, all of you. If we had to list out the things we miss most, it would be: seeing you, hugging you, being with you at early hours twice a week, and hugging you some more. We also kind of miss making you do burpees, but that goes without saying.  read more

Dear NP BAL – our community of people we love!

Have you felt a little stale lately? A little over the hype of normalizing what is not at all a normal situation? Overwhelmed? Underwhelmed? A little like you can’t wake up before 9am? You’re not alone. We have been feeling the same.

We miss all your faces and we know this because when we bump into any of you, it brings a surge of joy that rides with us the entire day. I’m sure you’ve all felt the same, so you know how eager we are to gather again. read more

2020: A Change in Direction

An Ode to Rash Field Stairs

November Project foundations were built on creating community and exploring your city through free early morning workouts. Most cities have an iconic meetup spot that November Project claims as their unofficial home. In Baltimore, we have loved being guests to the dynamic Rash Field on Wednesdays, and to the hills at Patterson Park on Fridays. Rash Field, which has held our mid-week workouts for almost six years, will undergo construction starting next month. The construction plan has given us a chance to reflect on our goals as community moving forward: what does hosting a workout in a particular space mean to us; what space has the capacity to be accessible and dynamic; will the people still come (yes, the answer, we hope, is always yes). One thing we kept coming back to is that we spend a majority of our time working out in the southern portions of the city. While we love Rash Field (and Patterson Park), it’s not fully representative of the city as a whole: there are so many amazing neighborhoods that we, as November Project, have never adventured through. After months (years!?) of considering where we should relocate, we have come up with an alternate plan for 2020. Because no one venue has been superior to others…. read more

Dreaded black line no more (BAL)

“And this is what we call the dreaded black line.” I nodded my head eagerly as the orthopedist, Dr. K, seemed to explain what she would be looking for in the x-ray I had just gotten minutes before. No chance it was mine. I had literally just walked out of the exam room. Feet still bare. Shin still dully painful, as it had been for the last six months. Shit does not happen that quickly in medicine. I should know.  read more

Happy Running, BMORE

Happy Running Day to our favorite group of hardworking, always smiling people! Like every good random holiday, this one brings us an extra reason to celebrate our #why -why we started running, why we continue to run, why we show up at very odd hours to community events in the name of running, why we race, why we sweat, why we cry when we hear the workout bu do it anyway, why why why why. And of course, an unofficially official reason to post our coolest running photos on social media. We are more than glad you all choose to spend early mornings with us on the regular, and while today is a day to celebrate what running, fitness, and community means to you, we hope that we honor your “why” every week.  read more
