Welcome Queen Maggie

Today we added a strong bad ass lady to our leadership team here in Brooklyn. We would like to introduce her as Queen Maggie.

It has been such a pleasure getting to know Maggie and watching her grow with The November Project family.  I remember her first workout because she constantly reminds me that watching me dance in front 75 people inspired her to tap into wild side and feel more comfortable around the tribe. Maggie has taught me how important connection is and the importance getting to know people on a more personal level.  Even in her first few months she has always raised the bar with nailing any theme workout we put together. read more

2018 Winter Olympics | Dry Land Edition

Welcome to November Project Brooklyn’s 2018 Winter Olympics, the Dry Land Edition!

Seriously, count ‘em.

The tribe was split into three countries led by their three captains: Tara representing Columbia, Dan representing USA, and Tammy representing Jamaica.

(From viewer left to right: Dan, Tara, and Tammy.

The teams were counted off by, “1. 2. 3.” Then, the morning’s competition began! There were THREE EPIC EVENTS where team work, strategy, and a thing we like to call – MATH – came into play. read more

WIGGIN’ OUT | Behind The Run

We’ll start by saying, ‘Thank you,’  to all the runners who showed up, donated, volunteered and supported this event that was created on a bar napkin at the ugly duckling after way too many beers.

We’re sure everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer.  It’s a terrible disease, and we wanted to find a way to bring some cheer on the 2018 weekend of World Cancer Day.  For some people, it’s a challenge running in 19 degree weather with tail winds whipping in your face. We had 42 people run, while wearing wigs, outside in that crazy weather. read more

GETTING IN THE SPIRIT

Welcome, to THAT time of year. The ‘holidays are joyful’ and ‘home for the holidays’ type of advertisements that are sprinkled everywhere you turn. And while that can be true, it can also be overwhelming and lonely…for real, for real. New York is filled with transients and sometimes, home isn’t a reality during the holiday season. read more

Friday morning was all about collaboration.  Having November project NYC and a November Project Brooklyn  ; two tribes working as one to race a hard ass bridge. The idea of racing bridges is something Darcy and Adam think about in their sleep.  Thry  are obsessed with bridges and have been so creative in designing an urban race series out of it.  What better when to do that than combining all three come together and crush an awesome bridge. Darcy and Adam say they are not much of morning ppl but seeing that sunrise over that bridge this morning was pretty fucking awesome. It was worth getting out of bed and forcing yourself to stumble to the start line.  Once Mary popped that imaginary race gun the race to chase that sun was ON.  Adam came through as the first finisher like a beast in a time of 17:56 I think there was smoke coming off his shoes.  I loved seeing the two tribes pushing each other up and over that bridge and through the finish. Huge shout out to those who came out for the first time.  We were so happy to share this first Friday with all of you.  We know kicked off the official  start of many more Friday adventures. read more

Racing. Running. FUNing

Racing. Running. FUNning.

What you need to know about RACING:

Here’s the thing: Jeanie and I make it known that we push it to the limit (end of story). What you may not know, is that racing comes in many different forms: racing to get the first hug of the morning, racing to have the best dance move of the night, even racing to give each other that tease or reminder to help the other crack a smile. Here in New York, from…what, March (?!) through the end of November, races are like candy on Halloween: everywhere, every kind, and sometimes, a litttttttle pricey. This weekend is the club championships (look at our previous guest blog post from Myles) and this is an opportunity for us to show up with all our pride and all our might for our community here, and world wide. Again, this is not just about racing (which, in some eyes, is what Saturday morning will boil down to), it’s also about seeing how racing has evolved from running to impact so many lives around us and connect us all, with a side of healthy competition. I could go on and on (and then some) about the good, the bad, and the ugly of this topic – instead, we segue to our next title… read more
