Racing. Running. FUNing

Racing. Running. FUNning.

What you need to know about RACING:

Here’s the thing: Jeanie and I make it known that we push it to the limit (end of story). What you may not know, is that racing comes in many different forms: racing to get the first hug of the morning, racing to have the best dance move of the night, even racing to give each other that tease or reminder to help the other crack a smile. Here in New York, from…what, March (?!) through the end of November, races are like candy on Halloween: everywhere, every kind, and sometimes, a litttttttle pricey. This weekend is the club championships (look at our previous guest blog post from Myles) and this is an opportunity for us to show up with all our pride and all our might for our community here, and world wide. Again, this is not just about racing (which, in some eyes, is what Saturday morning will boil down to), it’s also about seeing how racing has evolved from running to impact so many lives around us and connect us all, with a side of healthy competition. I could go on and on (and then some) about the good, the bad, and the ugly of this topic – instead, we segue to our next title…

What you need to know about RUNNING:

It’s not all about racing. And, when we’re in race season: remember to inject fun, rest, and community when you can. Tomorrow night (8.3): take your pick of connection plus fun, there’s a) a collaboration between Ciele Athletics + Stance Run that has resulted in a 5K from Jack Rabbit – Time Warner at 6:30 PM, followed by libations, snacks, and prizes AND there’s also b) the Take The Bridge – Triboro race (2nd of the Summer Series) starting at 8 PM where runners set out to claim their fastest segment times from the Randall’s Island footbridge, through the ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ section until landing to the OUT and BACK check point segment on the Triboro —the course is longish and full of stair(or)s. Tomorrow night will feel like your typical summer night: jam packed with back to back events – you can hit them all, and make sure the moments you want to experience first hand aren’t missed.

What you need to know about FUNNING:

All of that said, sometimes – we try to combine all THREE.

INTRODUCING – a SUNRISE 6K for our tribe, near and far, to take place the morning of the 25th of August, in the year of our (insert here), 2017.

You better save that date, and sit tight, more shall be revealed in due course…

Bottom line:

  1. Bottom line:
  2. SATURDAY (8.5) come support November Project (NYC/BK/ETC) in Central Park.Don’t forget to see what running is doing for the world around us. Don’t like what you see? Enroll us, your friends, whoever will listen – and create a plan of action to stir up the pot. There’s always room for a little more spice and a little more awareness, we highly encourage it.

Toodles,
