It’s been a long wait, but the Chicago Marathon week is here! After a year hiatus, we’re back in person and we could not be more excited!!
Note: if any of these event links don’t work, please join our social page and that should resolve the issue. If you are just looking for the race spreadsheet, it can be found here.
Friday, October 8th
November Project Chicago Friday workout. 6:00am. Polk Bros Park City Stage. Get HYPED! We have a yoga option for those running the marathon, but we ask that you PLEASE pack/ bring your own mat. If you have an extra for a friend, place your name on it and bring it to share. Don’t have a mat? Bring a hotel towel. Just show up. We’ll also have a separate, more traditional workout option, too. We will be tagging–we’ve got a unique NP Chicago Marathon tag that would look great on your race top.

Saturday, October 9th
Pizza Mile. 11 am. Lake Shore Park. Third annual pizza mile. One square of pizza, one lap of track, four times. Free to participate. Thank you to our friends at D’Agostinos for supplying the ‘za! Sign up here so we can order appropriately.
Sunday, October 10th
Race day. You’ve put in the work, now it’s time to take a victory lap around the city. If you’re running, please add yourself to our spreadsheet so that we can watch and cheer for you. There will also be a pre-race bounce hosted by our member Greg Bennett at 6:10am at the Congress Garden Plaza South (Southeast corner of Michigan Avenue and Ida B Wells). If you’re racing, a couple of course notes to take: with the tall buildings downtown, expect your GPS watch readings to be inaccurate for mileage markers. You can switch your splits to manual, or know entering the race what your run time should be at certain mileage markers. Give yourself PLENTY of time to arrive early on race day. You may also expect the first couple of water stops to be a little crowded, so be prepared for this.
Cheer Station. 8:30 am. Wentworth & 26th Street. (Facebook event)
Marathon Sunday is the best day in the city of Chicago. Tens of thousands of runners from all over the world will be out on the course and it’s our mission to energize every last one of them. Pack your cowbells, pack your costumes, pack your signs, and most importantly, pack that positive energy. We’ll be at Mile 22 to high five, cheer and applaud every runner out there. If you’d like to bring food or drink, please do! We’re out there all day.
After Party. 5:00 pm. D’Agostino’s Pizza & Pub Wrigleyville. Join us at D’Agostino’s Wrigleyville to celebrate. Marathon finishers can bring their medal for a free slice of pizza or a free beer. A full menu and full bar will be available to order dinner and drinks. Bring your friends, family, and any new friends you make over the weekend!
Monday, October 11th
November Project Chicago Pop-Up. 6:00 am. North steps of The Field Museum.
We’re keeping the tradition alive by hosting a special post-Marathon pop-up workout at the Field Museum on Monday morning. Again, we’ll have stretching and yoga available for those with wobbly legs. We recommend taking public transportation, biking or Divvy to this workout as parking in the area is limited and the parking garage prices will be full priced that morning. This is your last chance to take home a marathon tag!
