Your participation [period]
There are a lot of reasons why this may work for you, as the individual, but as a collective it thrives based on its participants. You matter. You are more than a body amongst the masses. Even if you don’t talk with anyone or give out a single high five. You matter – in ways you may not even be aware of. I want you to know that this is a place where you can expand your boundaries but just by showing up, by being present, you provide a space for others to do the same. If you aren’t there then someone notices, even if it’s not verbalized to you, even if you never see that someone notices.
I am not saying that you always need to be there. Injuries are a thing; work is a thing; life is a thing. You have to do what is best for you – listen to your body. Even if it’s been days/months/years, doesn’t matter, you are always welcome and it’s always better with ‘you’ there.
The positivity award recipient, for me personally, is a great example of that. Countless times on the hill I thought in my head “ok keep Dean there” “oh he’s catching up” “damn he is fast” etc etc. long before we ever had our first conversation. I have nothing but positive accolades to say about Dean – that award is well earned.
As we enter 2019 know that now and forever NP is a constant. Even if only one person shows up, the spark is alive. Join us at a workout, come back to a workout, try it for the first time – it’s always better with you there. Promise.
