Note: To celebrate the upcoming November Project/Dooster Film collaboration, “Showing Up,” we have identified several Phoenix tribe members who we feel embody the November Project spirit. We are dropping one personal story a day leading up to the Showing Up event on Monday evening. For more information and tickets to this FREE event, click here.
Jesus found November Project through Meetup, is probably on a trail as I type this, and once ran a marathon with a burrito in his pocket. None of that was made-up.

I have always considered myself a runner but family, school, and work required all of my time so I gave it up. After a few years, my body changed and my energy decreased. I didn’t want to play with my daughter or even take her to the park. I was in need of a change. My love for running led me to meet up with a running group for a stair workout. My first thought was it is just another running group. However, it was more than that. Everyone there was happy, they would high five and hug each other. It took a couple of workouts to realize what November Project really is. I love showing up Wednesday mornings for a killing workout with each and everyone of them. Now, I have energy to workout everyday and to take my daughter to the park to play. Showing up to November Project encouraged me to be a healthier person.
