Why I Show Up, by Katie Ellis

Note: To celebrate the upcoming November Project/Dooster Film collaboration, “Showing Up,” we have identified several Phoenix tribe members who we feel embody the November Project spirit. We are dropping one personal story a day leading up to the Showing Up event on Monday evening. For more information and tickets to this FREE event, click here.

Here’s Katie. Easily one of the fastest and strongest of the tribe, she doesn’t let silly things like “injuries” keep her off the stairs. Even when unable to work out, she still shows up to help, such as by tagging #grassrootsgear, taking photos, or dishing out high-fives.

I show up to November Project because sunrises are best enjoyed with friends and family. In the past year and a half, the NP_Phx tribe has become my family. No matter what life throws at you, you can always count on your November Project tribe for high fives, sweaty hugs, and putting a smile on your face. I’m pretty sure Benjamin Franklin once said, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes and November Project.” I’ve never once regretted #justshowingup. #injurydeck #wyattssidekick
