Soo I’ve had these ideas for blog posts, probably hundreds by now. It seems like my mind comes up with something new every hour but this was not something I thought too hard about… well, until today. We are always talkin’ community, racing, free fitness, grassroots, goals, fuck yeahs, #justshowingup, basically everything November Project is and stands for…. well yup here’s another one. With everything that went down this morning, it’s too perfect not to just go HAM on this.
I’m sitting on my apartment floor, windows open, music playing and its 11:30 A.M. It feels like spring (it’s almost December?! What are you doing Mother Nature??) No work, no plans and yet the day already feels complete. I’m clicking through 500 or so photos from the madness that was thrown down this morning and I started realizing something about today… First, we are all fucking beautiful. Seriously, BEAU-T-FUL. Second, everyone is enjoying themselves, and lastly, most–if not all the new catz were parents and children that we’ve brought along. That’s FUCKING awesome! We love this group enough to share it with our family and friends. Recruit them so that they understand our nonstop talking about all things NP. I know, I know, this isn’t rocket science, it’s not like discovering Atlantis or Newton’s realization that things fall, sorry I mean “gravity”. BUT it’s more meaningful right now.
This group is more than a community. I’m actually not a fan of that word. Yup, I said it but hear me out. Community is thrown around so much these days and it’s not powerful enough for what this is, what we are. We are a FAMILY. I don’t care what Webster defines as ‘family’ or what we all believe to be a family, but we are Family. (Get up everybody sing (yup I’ll be attaching that song at the end of the blog, cliche? Probably.)) #doubleparentheses
PROOF:
- We wake up together…well not literally, alright maybe sometimes 😉 Then we do some weird bouncing shit, get our sweat on, get our grind on, do some more weird shit, take a photo and then head out to whatever it is we do for the day. That hour or so we spend together is family time, we are making memories, we be making experiences. Have you ever been like “DUDE haha remember that photo of #CoachHarry…” or “Remember that time when Nathalya brought Chipotle* down to the ground after log rolls…” It’s the same thing we do when we get together with our families for dinner, we reminisce, we laugh our asses off, we go through family photo albums.

- We also care about one another and support each other like families do. When someone you haven’t seen in a while makes an epic return, it just feels right to have them back again. Someone in the group gets a flat bike tire and someone offers to drive them home. Someone else is moving and a herd of us are their packing and moving their stuff. This is stuff families do, they support and care for each other.

- We brunch together. Were there photos today of the beautiful sunset (yup sunset, who wakes up for sunrises?) over the IG and social meadz!? Nope, just massive takeovers of houses and restaurants all over Brookline as we all just enjoyed each others’ company.
There are a lot of reasons why we are family. But today in light of Thanksgiving, those reasons were more obvious than ever. I am thankful for all y’all.
Today C Payne and I made up a Turkey Trot on the ‘fly’. It was definitely one of the most badass Trots in the world. We had live turkeys, stair spice, real fucking steep hills and lots of blue cones marking the course…maybe not a lot, but there were some, give us some credit! We switched it up from the big boiii hill and you dudes and dudettes emptied it allll over that hill. Nice work. I’m proud. Nathalya log rolled, Joev was dressed as a turkey and Mel from DC crushed the course like it ain’t no thing. DC, you trained her well. We recruited people in cars:
and we chased children (cause thats what families do):
Monday’s location is HERE. #Verbal. DO IT! The tribe is gaining momentum, we’re not stopping, and you don’t want to miss out on the weird that’s been going down lately.

The beautiful old days…
