“The more we share, the more we have.” – Leonard Nimoy (AUS)

This morning as I was wall sitting next to Cassie K, we started talking about what led her to November Project. She grew up with Beth Maroney from the Chicago tribe. Beth shares a lot about her NP experiences on social media. Cassie saw one of her posts on Instagram and although it took her a few months to #JustShowUp, she finally did. Now Cassie is a tribe member here in Austin that we see regularly on Wednesdays & Fridays. Thanks for the recruit, Beth!

The conversation got me thinking about how I found November Project through my friend Tricia Aoki’s (NP DC) social media posts in 2014. Austin did not have a tribe then. Would I have discovered NP without Tricia sharing her experiences?  I’m celebrating my three year NP anniversary on October 24.  Now I talk about November Project to anyone who will listen (and even to some that won’t!) Why wouldn’t I share something that has become such a huge part of my life with my friends, acquaintances and even strangers?

Something you’ll hear me say a lot is “You never know who is reading your story.” I believe so much in the power of social media as a recruiting tool because it’s something I have experienced. Again, if it weren’t for Tricia’s posts would I know about NP? Would Austin have a tribe? I can’t express enough how sharing your experiences will not only grow our community but also I think NP is a pretty awesome gift you could give to someone else. Support. Love. Laughter. Sweat! I am truly thankful for it and for all of y’all.

Do you love November Project? TELL THE WORLD. I’m not just talking about clicking share on a post. Tell them about what NP means to you. Tell them what an incredible time you had this morning. Tell them it was easy or that it challenged you. Has it changed you? These stories are what drew me in.

Someone is reading. Someone is listening. They may be looking for us and they don’t even know it.
