Talk about a group of people that can make the best of any situation. The tribe members of NP_NO and our out of town visitors proved today that they can make the most out of any situation.
Since its inception, NP_NO has aimed to make Champion Square our permanent Wednesday morning home for whatever off the wall workout this group can drum up. At first we were small and pretty much flew under the radar. Since that time, NP_NO has grown to a formidable group of loyal followers and fresh faces that have caught the attention of many around the city including some of the higher ups at the group that manages the State owned Superdome. The management company has raised some issues about our use of the space and we are attempting to work with them to satisfy all parties to continue our Wednesday assault on the stairs.
Because of this situation, we asked our loyal tribe members to patiently wait for an update as to the location of this morning’s workout, in the hopes of being allowed to continue as normal. Unfortunately, when we had to move the party to Audubon park, some did not get the memo and showed up to our original home.
For those who showed up to the Dome, we apologize for that but we heard y’all made the most of the situation. Thank you to all (I think 7) of you who showed up and completed a workout there…doing the stairs and letting a completely new member lead a workout instead of going home and hating us. NP_NO and all other NP tribes are about that…just fucking showing up and making the best of what’s around (see what we did there with the title??). Next time we meet, let us know who you are. We all want to personally hug you for helping us prove a point!

For the folks that checked twitter/email/and FB yesterday afternoon, Audubon Park was a great change to the routine and an opportunity to open the group to new tribe members. We started things off with the all important tribe news updates (DON’T FORGET ABOUT AUGUST 17th!), rounded out by some bouncing and hugging. Then everyone took a lap around the park, hopefully with a stranger that is now your new best friend, but if not…that is fine too. Then came a partner workout where we alternated work for a minute at a time and folks volunteered the next movement in the series. Then following the trend from last week, we sniped another idea from one of our fellow Yankee tribes (those guys are creative) and in honor of Shark Week played a little Sharknado and Minnows. Of course our version has burpees and everyone loves burpees.
#positivityaward went to Gary Luccioni this week for constantly keeping us entertained and his infectious positivity. Gary, you make the tribe better and for that we thank you!
A full day and a great group. Thanks to all of you for participating and a special thanks to those of you that have reached out and offered to assist with our location situation. We are overwhelmed by the support that the members of our community have offered. Thank you all, we could not be prouder of the community that we are building. Be sure to check back regularly on Facebook and Twitter, as we will provide updates on location as we get things worked out.
