Rotary Dial

IT LOOKS LIKE WE MADE IT”…that song just kept running through our heads as we gathered the group to start today.  The co-leaders of NP_NO had a goal to reach triple digit participation by the end of the summer.  Of course, summer in New Orleans lasts until Mid November, so we had some buffer to make things happen.  While we won’t engage in discussing specific numbers for fear of Bojan starting WW3.  We can say, as a former President once declared: Mission Accomplished.  All of the credit goes to the NP_NO community that continuously pushes others to just show up (and a few people that have used their position to more or less force others to get their ass in gear).  The tribe is growing and the tribe is un-freaking-believably strong! Our ability to multiply thus far would make a family of rabbit’s blush, so thank you to everyone that has begged, insisted, or threatened your friends and family to just show up.

As we continue to go and grow we learn as a group what works and what doesn’t. Today we had a little more of the latter than the former, but that’s part of what why we love each and every one of you and this little gambit known as November Project.  We started off the morning with the usual warm-up lap around the Dome and a good 15 minutes on the stairs, because we all love a little more stair time.  We then partnered up for some steadily increasing running rotations around the Dome with a Fireman’s carry thrown in on the last leg for good measure.  Think of an old rotary phone, where the dial has to return to Zero each time before dialing the next number.  Well, we dialed up a good 3, 6, 9, and 0 for today’s routine and had a few smiles and laughs as our partners trudged back to the starting point with another human being on their back at the end of each rotation (with some wheelbarrows and walking lunges thrown in as scaling options).  It ran a little long on time, but there was plenty of sweat to be had and we learned again that organizing our growing group is a new and exciting challenge each week.  Major props to all of the other NP’s that have mastered this already.

Speaking of our fellow Tribes, shout out to bad ass NP_SMF (Sac-town represent) Co-Leader Stephanie for joining us today and allowing us to brain storm on November Project’s world takeover.  Two babies attended this week, which now officially makes this a trend and special thanks to the three gentlemen who showed up mid-workout after seeing us from their hotel rooms across the plaza.  We didn’t catch your names, but you are now officially members of the tribe and can go forth to spread the NP gospel in Atlanta and Utah!

We finished things off today with our group photo and in honor of the World Cup (#Ibelievewecanwin) we did our best post World Cup goal impressions.  No biting though (looking at you Suarez)!

Lagniappe!
