Rise & Grind (SMF)

Happy Wednesday! As some people dread the mid-week day, here in Sacramento and across the country where there is a November Project tribe working out, we look forward to that morning alarm so we can get on our way. Today, was like all the other Wednesday mornings, we got up on our feet and were ready to grind it out on the West Steps of the Capitol in Downtown Sacramento.

As the group gathered, said hello, exchanged hugs and heard co-leader Haley explain the workout, the group saw some new faces in the tribe this morning. This morning the group welcomed David and Emma to the weekday morning workout.

After a quick warm-up mile around the the Capitol, we started our workout for the day with a “Testing” Day. The contest incorporated repeated rounds of jump-squats, burpees, butterfly sit-ups, push-ups, jumping lunges,  and tricep dips. Each exercise was performed 20 times before moving onto the end. At the end of the timed 10 minutes, the person who got through the most round won. Today’s winners of bragging rights went to Chris and his daughter Gabby. It looks like the old man can keep up with his college aged daughter.

Co-leader Stephanie came close to winning but fell short a few push-ups to win it all. While, co-leader Chris was too busy shit talking through the workout to keep track of how many rounds he actually completed. Everyone else did a solid job getting through the workout before finishing up with a quick cool-down as a group through the Capitol Park and back to the West Steps of the Capitol building.

Meet us every Wednesday at 6:25AM in front of the West Steps of the Capitol, here is the address: California State Capitol , 1315 10th St, Sacramento, CA 95814 (West Steps are the steps facing the Tower Bridge). Make sure to help us spread the word via social media “like” us on Facebook and “follow” us on Twitter.  We also post some awesome photos and other things on our FB / Twitter to keep you guys involved during the week.
