Since the pandemic, the last 12 months have felt like the opportunity to say yes has been great and greater. People have been caring more and more about what this community is and why is it so awesome. The simple answer is that it’s the people that #JustShowUp that make it awesome plain and simple. The opportunities have been to try and share NP with a greater and wider audience. I wanted to share that over the weekend we got another amazing opportunity from the YMCA to be the keynote presenters for their conference in Edmonton. 1) how cool is this! 2) obviously we turned it into a workout haha. It was fun to have the chance to draw some connections to aspects of what we do with why we do them. We drew them into our inclusivity , our badassary, how we explore our city, and how we try to bring joy+fun to what we do. It definitely wasn’t your conventional speech but we warned them ahead of time and admits the groans and confused faces there were lots of smiles and comradery. While I doubt Lazina and I will being touring the country for leadership conferences but it was fun to say yes to this offer. That was over the weekend but this morning was also amazing! I felt like a zombie after picking up my partner from the airport late the night before but your infectious energy kept me going. I really likely the skate park workout, it was my second time there but having all the features to play with made it really fun. It was also very fun to shout PARKOUR off of very jump haha. Don’t forget this Friday we are having our first tagging day of the year! Bring a lightly coloured shirt for us to tag 🙂
