November Project London recently had the pleasure of accepting 2nd place in the “Best Community” category on behalf of November Project global at the Challenge Awards (presented by Runners World and powered by Let’s Do This). The awards aim to recognise the best challenge events, organisation, charities, communities and individuals over the 2018/19 season. November Project’s success was due to our worldwide community coming together to make this happen – thank you!
Attending the awards, it was clear how passionate Let’s Do This is about using races to build communities and inspire fitness (in their words “encouraging people to have epic experiences”). If these ideas sound familiar it might be because they align perfectly with NP’s mission of “human development and community building through empowering group workouts”. In many cases, category winners weren’t the usual suspects, but smaller events or organisations with strong, passionate members able to rally together and secure the winning votes. To us, this just further emphasised the impact of communities that JUST SHOW UP.
Let’s Do This believes races really matter – in their words, “races are the blueprint for how we approach the challenges in the rest of our lives”. We relate to this here at NP London. We like racing, whether it’s an Ironman or PB day (to get a sense, you should see the group disappointment every October when we all get rejected from the London Marathon ballot – again). There’s a joy in pushing through something hard (often before 7:30AM on a Wednesday) especially when we have our community cheering us on.
So to Let’s Do This and their partners – thank you! To NP Global – it was an honour to represent you. And of course, congratulations to our category winner, Mikkeller Running Club – we’ll have to come join a London run soon!Share via socials:
