Every once in a while you need to shake things up to keep people roused. We did just that this perfectly radiant morning, with a PR workout that knocked your socks (or knee brace*) off. Below is a pencil render of the amphitheater to illustrate our new PR workout, the changes of which can be described thusly:
- It’s timed at 25 minutes instead of 18 flights
- You run around the Papago rocks before commencing the stair assault
- [please record other thing that’s different here]

Now for the prodigiously roaring bit. We didn’t mention this to ensure none of you would sandbag, but we’ll be tracking your times each month through the summer. We’re giving away one piece of North Face gear to the person with the biggest overall improvement from now until then. This means that one lucky purposeful runner will be walking away with some sweet TNF threads in a few months**.

Today we also celebrated our favorite Pastry Rani by awarding her the Positivity Reward. This has been a long time coming, but a series of unfortunate events prevented us from properly rendering it to her until now. Despite living downtown, Karen has likely been to more workouts than any of us, myself included. Her piety, resolve, and dazzling smile are always on display, no matter the occasion. And she maintains this busy schedule despite a packed routine that includes splitting time between Treehouse Bakery, Practical Art, and various philanthropic responsibilities (pie night, art fairs, and desert botanical garden, among others). In short, Karen truly has been drinking the NP private reserve. Congratulations, Karen, and we fully expect to peruse recordings of you and that baseball bat wherever the wind takes you.
*Fact: a knee brace was actually knocked off.
**Probably even before the rest of the tribe receive their TNF shirts.
