- Hard workout today
- Notes from m.o.m
Today was a sweat dripping, ass kicking good time. Two time trials, sprints, two times around the four corners, and a 1o minute warm-up at the Oodena circle made for a lot of sweaty faces.
Before I get into anything else, I want to remind everyone that November Project Winnipeg is going to a bomber game on August 17th! We will be watching the blue and gold take on the red and black (Dom’s home team). The link to discounted tickets is here:
Shout out to Junel for kicking stigma’s ass; he ran 100 miles at the end of June, raised over $20,00o for mental health, won the shabooya for a second time today, and took some sweet pics for us to use for content. Thanks dude, I’m glad you’re here.
This past weekend, Megan, Dom and I were all in California for the meeting of the minds. The North Face pays for all the leaders from November Project tribes around the world to gather together, connect and talk about everything that is November Project. What is working, what isn’t working, the direction of the movement, and so much more.
One of the things we talked about was ‘What does it mean for a tribe to be crushing it?’ There were quite a few factors to consider, and numbers at a workout wasn’t high on the list. Some of the main points were fun and hard workouts, the tribe feeling like a family, social connections outside of regular workouts, the recognition by people outside of November Project, and many more. One of the points raised that really struck home with me is that you know a tribe is really crushing it when regular attendees take it upon themselves to help out with first timers; to show them how to do the workouts, to get to know them and make them feel welcome, and to encourage them.
Today after the workout as I was walking back to my car, I was talking to Erin and she was telling me how grateful she is for November Project. And I said that’s great, and reminded her that just as grateful as she is for it, so am I. This whacky workout group means a lot to so many people in so many different ways, and you never know how much that Wednesday morning workout can turn someones day/week/life around.
So keep crushing it Winnipeg, and by that I mean keep connecting, encouraging, and pushing yourselves to be better.
