It’s Not About Me – But Let’s Make it About Me For a Sec (SUZ)(PHL)

Today was my last day standing with the tribe as a co-leader of November Project Philadelphia. It is pretty bonkers saying that out loud.

It was about four years ago that I learned of this November Project thing. Just under three years ago, in October 2013, I reached out to some of my running buddies and eight of us made our way to The Steps for our first pledge workout. A few months later, in January 2014 we officially became a tribe and had 37 folks at our workout. 37 seemed like a hundred, until we broke that number, then 200 and in the spring of 2015, 300! I am very happy to say that I was a part of all of this.

But this isn’t about numbers. It’s for the individuals who make up this community. For those of you who joined me on that very first day, having no idea what you were getting into, your support has been unwavering and none of us would be here without each of you, thank you. For those of you who have attended many a workout over the course of the last few years, you have enriched this experience for me, and this entire community beyond measure, thank you. To those of you who have been in and out of workouts or maybe today was your first day (sorry I cried on your first day) you are why this community exists and continues to grow, your curious nature, your willingness to try something new, your ability to jump right in and embrace the weird, thank you.

Thank you all for following along with some of the crazy workouts I made up and tortured you through. For bouncing, for laughing, for hugging, cheering and simply for being here and being a part of what brings this community together. You all rock!

November Project has changed my life in many positive ways, but there comes a time in each of our lives where the inclination to move forward is greater than that of staying put. I am very proud to have had such amazing experiences with each of you, and I look forward to making more memories together.

The good news is I’m not really going anywhere; you can’t get rid of me that easily!
I’m currently training for 3 (maybe 4) fall marathons so I’ll be running around everywhere, as I always have for hugs, high fives, catch-ups and whatever if any of you may need. I am really excited to enter this next chapter of my life a stronger more confident woman. I look forward to spending gobs of time with people I care for and I’m super excited to see all of you keep crushing your goals along the way!

Thank you for all you have given me and given each other. Keep giving of yourselves to one another. Never stop believing in the wild possibility that is you and your impact.
Y’all all magic.

xoxo
Suz

  1. I would love to get started in this movement! I live in the Manayunk outskirts of Philadelphia. Would it possible to start a workout program in this area?
