#IndianaJones & The Temple Of Weekend

Great work this morning. Finding groups that are “the same speed” can take us all back to picking teams on the playground where we were always picked first because we were such giant Serbian/Wisconsin dudes with shaved heads and giant tattoos that freaked out all the kids in the yard (and most of the teachers). Wait, that wasn’t what happened to you? Weird. But really, as much as we push the “now turn to 5,000 people and hug them and tell them who you are” before and after the workouts, we love to see you do it all on your own. The groups seemed to stick together well and finish with a push. That was the idea. Please post your comments on how the workout worked or didn’t work for you.

#IndianaJones slows things down yet makes you really dig when your sprints come up. We hope you begin to forget you’re even climbing hills until all of a sudden… the workout is over. We’ve all come a long way with these hill repeats. Be proud. Next week, when we test 5 hills all out, we hope to see some confidence, aggression, and relaxed looks all wrapped into each of your performances.

WEEKEND: Good luck to those racers who are going at 5K’s, Reach The Beach, Sunderland Triathlons, BBQ’s, wedding vows and everything else. Wear your #GrassrootsGear and spread the word about what we’re building (unless you have to be in a tux – Derrick don’t be #grassroots this one time).

MONDAY’S #DestinationDeck: Ryder Hall at Northeastern University. 6:30AM. Run there, deck with the tribe, run away to safety. For those of you who will be joining us for your first #DestinationDeck please be ready for rap jams and positive attitudes.

WEDNESDAY: Mayor Menino, Seal, Bobby Knight, and the Patriots Dance Team will all be joining us (probably, not really, definitely, who knows…). As usual, bring your “we don’t really care about you until you’ve bagged your full tour” charisma and we’ll be fine.

  1. Hi guys, didn’t see times but wanted to report. 10 trips in approx. 2:10

    And a quick story. As some of you know, I live at the bottom of Summit Hill. Last summer I did a little bit of gardening for a neighbor living at the top of the hill by the park. Every time I walked up there to take care of something I would have to either snake my way up side streets to get to the top or take a break on ever corner on the way up. I was just too out of shape to make it up the hill in one trip.

    This morning I made it up and down that hill 10 times. Sure it took me over 2 hours, but as I was finishing up I realized what a difference NP has made in my life and my quest for personal fitness.

    I can’t thank you guys enough for all the support over the past few months. This weekend every toast goes out to #NoPro and #TeamPB&J

    We love this story of YOU and your road to racing fitness. Two things we ask of you. 1. Sign up for a race that you’ll need to keep training for. 2. Buy the right winter/fall running gear so that you can train with us in all conditions.
