Goal Setting (YEG)

First things first you don’t need goals. Some people like them but you don’t need them. Secondly Rob needs goals. If the time in the pandemic taught me anything it was that I needed something to work towards when it comes to fitness otherwise it just doesn’t work for me. Sometimes we have goals that are dependent on factors we cannot control (anyone still hunting for cold enough weather to get that -30 badge?) but overall a goal can be easier to obtain with support. I think NP can help with your goal.

Do you have a goal in works? Is it to move more? Swim further? Is there a race you have in mind? Maybe a strength goal like doing 10 pull-ups (secretly this is a goal of mine)? I think we’d be surprised how many goals throughout this group might overlap. I mainly ask this because I want to come cheer you on! I am sure others in the community would like so to. If you have a goal I know it would be awesome to be on the sidelines cheering my face off as you attempt it. If you are willing to I hope you share your goal somehow so we can be there with you!

My fitness goal this year is completing an Ironman in Penticton (which will have probably two practice triathlons leading up to that). I am scared shitless about this goal and my real training starts this month and wow this is real – it’s happening – YIKES.

NP goes skiing!! WHAT?!? NP does things that aren’t just workout based??? It’s true! Be it skiing, post race day celebrations, or anything we can think of we love providing a space to have fun. NPCan is heading to Marmot to ski tomorrow but we’ll do it again next year too so keep your eye peeled. Also if you have any ideas for social activities (maybe you have access to a super cool venue) – let us know!

I’m going to be away all next week but you’ll be in great hands with Lazina and a mystery guest co-leader (show up next week to find out who)!

Keep being awesome,

Rob

Rob’s Blog Dad Joke: I visited the zoo and only saw a small dog there. It was a Shihtzu
