Friday Feels (NOLA)

Today got me feeling some feels & I’m not sure why. But as I’ve sat at my desk today, my thoughts have continued to drift back to this morning and this week at NP NOLA. So as I try to dissect my thoughts, I figured it’d be best to share them with the world. Seems reasonable, right?

Thought 1 – Coincidence – Fate – Magic?

  • This morning, I threw everyone for a loop by scheduling a film shoot at the parking lot, requiring us to relocate to the Canal hill. And while I actually had nothing to do with the video shoot, my intention was always to have the workout down the street on Canal.
  • Conclusion: Coincidence? Maybe. Fate? If that exists, sure. Magic? Most definitely.

Thought 2 – Nonsensical Chaos

  • Sometimes I have really really great ideas. Like relocating to Canal street and driving my car down there so that you can all still have your water bottles. Sometimes I think I’ve got it all covered and timing will be perfect. And then sometimes you fuckers are so fast that you beat me to the street and I am absolutely not prepared to share the workout with you yet. I’m scatterbrained and you guys are like “well, this is really going great.” But you put up with it with smiles and patience.
  • Conclusion: My tribe is the greatest because they will put up with my nonsensical chaos 100% of the time. And I’m so lucky for that.

Thought 3 – The Canal Hill…

  • …sucks.

Thought 4 – Support

  • While I was chaotically trying to prepare for the hill portion of the workout, I had like HALF the tribe offer to help me carry the bottles from my car. That was after John S. willingly said he’d take pictures today because he was injured so he had just showed up to support the tribe (!!). And that was after Taylor helped me write the workout because I was struggling to find a balance between challenging and scalable. All of which happened before I had multiple people come up to me to let me know that today’s workout was great and they liked the change of pace (which I was so desperately hoping to hear).
  • Conclusion: If you’re ever looking for a place to feel completely supported in all aspects of life, you should come to November Project.

Final Thought – The Tribe is Strong

  • This week, we kicked ass at Audubon Park, with over 50 people showing up for what was probably our largest Monday ever. Then on Wednesday, we were the stars of WDSU as Project November. We may never have proof of it but here’s what you should know – I told them that November Project is one of the best things that ever happened to me; everyone is welcome; and my favorite exercise is the burpee. Oh and we had ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN PEOPLE just show up Wednesday morning. And then today, you beautiful humans showed up, ran extra far, sprinted extra hard, and smiled extra big as all 70 of you earned your weekend.
  • Conclusion: This tribe is SO strong. Our numbers are growing. Our name is becoming recognized. And our bond as a tribe has never been better. There’s no place I’d rather be on my Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

So there it is. The dissection of my Friday Feels. I guess you could say that I’m pretty damn lucky to have such positive things to think about.
