Onlookers sounds a little bit nicer than lurkers, right? Maybe? Yeah, I think so.
Our Facebook page has over 2,000 likes, Our Instagram over 1,500- and a few hundred people are on our e-mail distribution list.
I know it is human to fear things. What happens is a lot of you are sitting back, watching, telling yourself “One day I’ll go”, but that one day just hasn’t happened yet. That is OKAY. But the purpose of this blog is to tell you, MAKE NEXT WEDNESDAY THAT DAY. WHY? WHY NOT.
We all have different comfort zones. Some of us don’t like to workout in a group, some of us don’t like to run, some don’t like cardio, some don’t like body weight workouts. Here is what I am here to tell you. OFTEN, we don’t like things because we FEAR things. I promised myself that this year I would try new things that I have been putting off for a while. We are afraid to fail, or put ourselves in a vulnerable position.
I can tell you that it is IMPOSSIBLE to explain to you what November Project is, because I think it is more something that you feel. To those of you who come, HOW many of you have tried to recruit your friends, and you find yourself fumbling for words, or your friends are just looking at you like you are nuts? I think, while we are all like minded individuals for the most part, what we all feel from November Project varies greatly, but the commonality is that the feels are POSITIVE. We can’t possibly sell this to people, they need to come experience it for themselves. Maybe they get it right away, maybe it will take a few weeks, maybe even longer. The more people that show up, the more likely it is that everyone finds that person or people they connect with.
I have seen some INCREDIBLE transformations in this group in the 3 years I have been around. These changes are not limited to one thing either. I have seen people drop weight and keep it off (the RIGHT way), I have seen people grow more confident, I have seen people who weren’t morning people arrive well before 5:30am ready to go, I have seen people who would rather be alone be the “life of the workout”. How about the ones who show up and say they are out of shape or can’t run, and we just cheered them to the finish of their first 5k or first marathon? The possibilities are ENDLESS.
The only way you can possibly know what you can get out of November Project is to #JustShowUp. So to those of you who already do, Keep doing that. To those we haven’t seen in a while, Come back. And to those we haven’t met yet, We can’t wait to share this with you.
