This is the blog post you’ve been looking forward to since the announcement was made that the 5th annual November Project Summit #NP5UMMIT is going down in Boston, MA. The weekend will start off with the stair workout at the iconic Harvard Stadium, followed by some serious trail racing at the North Face Endurance Challengeat Wachusett Mountain, and will commence with the most epic social of the year! I know, the word “epic” is overused in describing anything from fun to exciting, but if you’ve been NPSUMMIT4.0 you know what I’m talking about (even if you haven’t been you know what I’m talking about.) read more

Surprise Yourself

This past Friday night/Saturday morning, history was made. Not as some expected, not as some wanted. But nonetheless, “the world is now just 25 seconds away from under two hours” (Eliud Kipchoge). I can’t imagine the questions and undeserved regret after finishing that run, but here is yet another example of the indomitable power of the human spirit and where it’ll get us. read more

Will you sign my yearbook?

It’s that time of year, when the masses say their goodbyes to their classmates. That’s right, it’s the end of the school year. And as DG likes to say “SCHOOL IS FOR FOOLS!” so who even goes anyways? Not me, that’s for sure…..

With the end of the year comes the beginning of a long-standing tradition. Longer standing than the ancient city of Rome. Longer than the days leading up to the next November Project workout. Yeah, we know you die a little when you have to wait through Tuesday before you see all your frands. read more

  2. No Coast is also this weekend! Check the Facebook page for more details, and if you can host, sign up with the housing sign-up form. You will be contacted by a leader should you be assigned a couch-surfer.

Forecast

It’s a warm Monday in Milwaukee and you know what that means?

John Teich will put on a tank top and not take it off until November. Ben Teich will make fun of said tank top. Rick Clark will continue to not wear a shirt. DG and Roger will start wearing shorts, and Christine’s choice of shorts will start being considered appropriate. read more

Story Time: What REALLY Should Come First

Announcements:

  1. On April 18th at 6 pm, November Project Milwaukee will have a workout in Miller Park. I repeat: NOVEMBER PROJECT MILWAUKEE WILL HAVE A FREAKING WORKOUT IN FREAKING MILLER FREAKING PARK. But I’m sure you already knew that. Here’s the sitch: we have a few hundred people signed up. There is a waitlist for the social gathering/networking event/eat as much as you can to load up for Wednesday’s workout afterwards – if you want to get in, SIGN THE F UP RIGHT NOW. We want you there. You want you there.
  2. No Coast 2017 is right around the corner. Housing sign-up is here. Details will follow. Plan out when you’re going to clean your bathroom if you want to have guests. No one likes hair all over the shower walls.
  3. This is a no-nonsense take on NP MKE. Featured: Roger’s dance moves (duh), a twin-terview, and a really cool hat.
  4. Recruitment challenge winner will be announced at the workout Wednesday. Don’t miss it.

Today’s Story Time comes from Jonathon “Determin-educ-ation” Young. You know him by his pom-pom hat with side flaps, his death-inducing-tenacity, and his brother, Young the Younger. Read all the way to the end, or else you’ll miss some amazing stories and life lessons, and we’ll make you do burpees. read more

Nooks and Crannies

First you gots to get through the grape sucker before you can get to that good ol’ chocolate core. How many announcements does it take to get to the center of the Tootsie pop?

Grape sucker:

  1. RECRUITMENT PAPERS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED UNTIL MARCH 31 SO HAVE YOUR SHEETS TURNED IN BY THEN. YES THIS IS CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT. I AM YELLING THROUGH THE COMPUTER SCREEN AT YOU. GITTER DONE.
  2. No Coast 2017 is taking place on April 22. Housing sign up is here. Details to come later. Please attend; we need you there.
  3. November Project MKE is excited to announce we will be taking over Miller Park on Tuesday, April 18 from 6-9 pm. Yes, it is a Tuesday. But it’s a Tuesday night! Invite the friends who think NP is “too early” – now they have NO EXCUSE. Tell them you can go to Bel Air after. Or stay for some food at the park instead.

Chocolate core:

If human beings were foods, we’d be English muffins… lots of nooks and crannies. No matter whether we convince ourselves that or believe that we are complete, full, and “have it all figured out”, we each have a few nooks and crannies to fill. read more

Alternative Facts 3.0

Announcements:

  • Recruitment papers are invalid after April 1 (no foolery). Be SURE that if you bring someone new, that they bring a form so that you can be king/queen of NP MKE recruitment efforts.
  • The No Coast Social is coming up (April 22) and there are a LOT of people coming into MKE from out of town. This means that we need as many people as possible to consider hosting at least one out-of-towner. Start thinking now about (1) whether you’ll be in town (2) whether you’re comfortable with someone from another tribe staying with you and (3) how many people you can feasibly host. We appreciate all of you and the fact that you are generous and thoughtful. More details to come.

We’re so darn happy you’re here

    Announcements:

    1. No Coast Social – keep your schedules (pronounced: shhhhhedüles) open the weekend of April 22. Not many details will be disclosed, but the one thing we will tell you is it’s gonna be so dang amazing. Simply because it involves mixing tribes. And for the record, they’re the best tribes the world has to offer.
    2. Recruitment forms – keep them coming. So far, it’s a four-way tie. We can’t split a prize four ways, so get after it, kiddos.
    3. Christine cannot open a bottle of champagne – but Watt (that’s the unit of power) of NP CHI certainly can consume one.

    We’re happy you’re here.
Such a simple phrase. Such a deep message.

Those four (technically six that have been smooshed together) words hold a boatload of meaning for the people of NP, and here’s why: we. mean. it.

I’ll give you a play by play. DG, Rog, and I (Christine) generally have coffee before arriving at the workout (can I get a “pre-workout-poops-rock”?) meaning we generally hit the bathroom at some point between the hours of 0615 and 0626. This most recent Wednesday, I went to the little girls’ room in the O’Donnell park office, and at the time, there were about four people besides us leader-folk near the Calling. Having a small group at 6:15 is a pretty standard thing – although, MKE, you gotta get better at being on time. I’m looking at you, WILL BOTT and THOMAS KENT BEAU (#calledout). read more
