People often wonder how we support this November Project habit of ours. Today, the tribe found out. Like Ludacris before “What’s Your Fantasy,” we make that paper selling wares out of our trunks. Except instead of CDs, we sell buffs.
- High-5 to everyone who ran the Rock n’ Roll Arizona marathon and half marathon this past weekend, and a HUGE Fuck Yeah! to all of you who went a step further and Just Showed Up this morning. You’re crazy, and I love you.
- The Republican party was founded in Ripon, WI, in 1854. I will now back away slowly.
- NP Social! We will have a social on Sunday, February 21 following Nick’s Run. Family, friends, kids, are all welcome.
- What is Nick’s Run, you ask? It is a race benefiting Angels for Athletes, and put on by our own Jeremy Heath (of Gemini Virgo Productions)! There are 5k and 10k options, as well as a kids fun run. Jeremy has hooked us up with a discount code, “NOVPROJ20,” for 20% off your registration. Hurry, it expires January 31. Yes, I realize this is the same weekend as Ragnar Del Sol, but you can easily manage an additional three or six miles. You’re strong; we believe in you.
Lies. We don’t actually make any money off of anything we do relating to NP. Zip. Zero. Ain’t get no dinero. The buffs are $5, which happens to be our cost. And they’re going fast. We will bring them to every workout until they’re gone, and those who miss out will have to make like a Cubs fan: Maybe next year.
Today’s 7/3 workout was a resounding success. It’s still dark, it’s still rather cold, and it’s still easy to hit the snooze button on the alarm. But the tribe continued to show that it is strong. Annie fell, and I’m 70% sure she broke something, yet she pushed on without hesitation. And let’s face it: nobody looks better with a headlamp on, or doing a sumo jump, than you guys.
I fully expect those who bought them to rock their buffs next week. And to celebrate their upcoming Super Bowl appearance, we will also be wearing Cardinals gear (red is an acceptable substitute) to the workout. We will be PRing, so come prepared to race.
Fine. Fresh. Fierce.
*I realize that “What’s Your Fantasy” was originally on Luda’s album Incognegro, which he sold out of his trunk. However, it wasn’t subject to widespread release until it was remixed and added to his debut LP, Back for the First Time. And while he is best known as a rapper and DJ, let’s not forget that he is quite the actor, even beyond the Fast & the Furious franchise. But I digress…Share via socials:
