I write to you today with fingers barely able to perceive the keys they type on. It was, and still is, a frosty morning. Running gloves did little to deter the frigid air from its assault, and it ravenously devoured any semblance of warmth from my hands. I’m hoping a quick writing exercise will help.
Wisco Notes
- Did I mention that it was COLD today? 30°F at kickoff. I don’t even think Superman gets out of bed for that.
- We’re having a Christmas-themed workout next week! Come decked out in your best Christmas (or Hanukkah, Mawlid, Kwanzaa, Festivus, or any other holiday you celebrate) attire.
- #Sunrise6k is December 30. This will be a 6k RACE, so be prepared to run the ~3.7 mi as hard as fucking possible.
- We have Wisconsin to thank for the beautiful Taliesin West in Scottsdale. Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin. TheMoreYouKnow.jpg
- Be sure to jump on https://tracking.november-project.com to track your workout today. We would LOVE it if you dropped your #sunrise6k time in there in a couple weeks. All the cool tribes are doing it.
- The tips of my pinkies are still numb. Is that normal?
This tribe flourished in the sweltering heat of summer, when temperatures routinely topped 110°F. As a result of YOUR dedication, we were awarded the coveted #weatherproof award (in tandem with Edmonton, where winter temperatures reach somewhere near absolute zero). The Mother Ship, hailing from the Northeast, didn’t anticipate such a #heatproof tribe, so we were presented with an ice skate. We’ve now officially made good on the spirit of the award.
Today would have been an easy one to hit the snooze button, savoring those precious minutes in the balmy cocoon of your bed sheets like Christmas cookies. But we don’t play that way, and the tribe came out in full force to kill some stairs while deliberating how best to remove that odd white layer from our windshields. Even the arctic ground couldn’t sway us from getting down for a few sets of pushups and abs. You truly Earned Your Week; none more so than Annie, who came out, laughed off the cold (she did not workout in those gloves or jacket), and earned the Crushin’ It award.
Finally, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who brought medals to support Phoenix Children’s Hospital. You have no idea how much these will brighten a child’s day. A simple gesture, a huge impact. Please continue to pollinate our community with passion and positivity.
