Hanging up my Onesies

After a year of receiving Rob’s poop status updates and Mary shaming me for running fewer miles in 6 months than she does in 1 week, I’ve decided it is time to hang up the co-leader onesies. It’s been an incredible experience tirelessly working with these two to carry the torch John and Paul left us. The genuine care Rob and Mary have for the tribe and the inexhaustible effort they make every day to improve the tribe has been inspiring to witness up close. Thank you both for everything you do. read more

Gimme Gimme Four

Birthdays can be weird. Reminiscent in where you have been. Celebratory for where you are today. Hopeful for where you will be going.

It was a little over four years ago Sara Beaney convinced John Honerkamp and Paul Leak to head to Boston to see what this crazy, morning workout group was all about. Convinced (and called out by the Godfathers) they could bring this movement back to New York City, they decided to start the gestation period in the middle of January. Five people showed up that first Wednesday. Six people showed up the following week. A few more the week after. After about eight weeks, the Mothership decided we were ready for a re-birth as the latest child in the November Project family. read more

O’ Captain! My Captain!

“This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.”

The quote above is attributed to the 21st Century’s foremost philosopher, Ms. Taylor Swift. #NPNYC experienced a lot of change in 2017 — new co-leaders, new workouts, new locations and new members, which resulted in ups and downs throughout the year. As 2018 rolls along, the tribe will continue to evolve. As such, we have made it our goal to empower the tribe so that all of you can be more engaged in shaping its future. We recognize many of you have great ideas and want to make sure we’re providing a platform for you to share them. For example, we did the Friday workout poll for January and will continue to look to have monthly guest leaders. We want to reiterate that we are always open to feedback and new ideas for the tribe. read more

Coney Island — Here We Come

Let’s play a quick game of “Would You Rather”:

  1. A) Water Slide
  2. B) Get your long run in
  3. C) Drink Beer

If you’re having trouble deciding, don’t worry, we got you covered because this Saturday you get to do all three. As part of our relationship with Coney Island Brewing, we are hosting a workout on Coney Island prior to heading to the brewery to enjoy brunch. Few questions you may be asking yourself outlined below, but, for those reading challenged individuals, Milwaukee notes first: read more

#NPNYC Sardines

Against most New Yorkers better judgement, we have decided to follow in the footsteps of our friends at NP Boston. Monday we will NOT be at Morningside Park but rather the co-leaders are challenging the tribe to a game of Sardines. Sarcastic questions and responses highlighted below but since we’re already past your normal reading of 142 characters, please find the Wisconsin notes at the end of the page. read more

Mondays, They Are A-Changin

ATTENTION!!!

November Project NYC has experienced a lot of change in the past few months. Our OG co-leaders John and Paul have stepped down from their pedestal, a band of copy-cat misfits called the Kings County Fit Club is starting to flames emojis out in Brooklyn (can you do emojis on this thing? are flame emoji’s still a thing?), the weather is fluctuating between 30 and 70 degrees* and workouts actually start on time. It’s been a lot for the tribe to handle. read more
