A reset

Hi friends!

Nice work on those stairs this AM. Social media tells me that it was a lovely snowfall this morning! Mild and pretty. Sounds like a perfect February morning.

I wanted to drop a quick note here to say hi and that I miss ya! A lot.

Some of you know that I just needed to have a body reset and so, I moved my life to Mexico for a couple of weeks. It was something that Rob and I have been talking about and planning for a bit now. He gets that I have a forever health problem (rheumatoid arthritis) and that sometimes, I just need to take care of me. This winter is one of those times.

I made it work with my job and well, I simply moved my work life a few plane hours south. To the warmth. I have to say, I feel like totally normal. I feel like pre RA Lazina. Nothing hurts. No flares. No noticing of joints. No white, numb fingers from raynaulds (I also have that). Just a happy Lazina over here as I type from a condo with the ocean waves crashing in front of me.

I really hope this is the reset my body needed after what I can only assume was an attack on my own immune system in Dec-January.

Aaaaand, if you know me, you know I’ll seek out places and way to stay active when away from home. I brought a few light accessory items (bands and gliders), I googled running routes, and yes, I sniffed out a track!

It has been pretty sweet running by the ocean in my bare legs and just one layer. We’ll get that back in Edmonton soon for sure.

Thanks to Nez, legacy NP co-leader from Chicago for the tip on a cool lookout point! Friends, it looks like I will get some stairs in (hopefully this evening) on this trip.
