A note of gratitude (Ottawa)

A big shout out to all those who showed up today. We want to thank each and everyone of you who did what was uncomfortable to wake up and get yourself to TD place this morning. You all give me so much energy that I can bring to the rest of the people I interact with the rest of the day. I know last week’s PR day was a tough one on the legs and it takes a lot to make your way back to do those stairs again. But all of you make it worth coming back. Although we have a permanent #verbal for every workout every and that it won’t ever be cancelled, it’s always way more than that which keeps me coming back for more. We are very grateful for this community and you showing up the next Wednesday is the only way it all keeps moving.

Last week, we talked to the group about how neat it was that they all woke up to a torrential downpour and yet STILL showed up. That’s the hardest time to make the decision and they made it at the peak of the storm, and biker ganged, drove or ran to get there. The funny part is that if you are committed to going, you don’t waiver when that alarm goes off. It doesn’t mean it’s not hard, it just means you don’t have that mental battle with yourself to make the decision. Once you get to the point where you’re going no matter what, your body thanks you and so does your mind that you don’t have to fight it. If you missed it, that’s okay. We missed you, but know that we like you hear no matter how many weeks you haven’t come. This group will welcome you with open hearts and sweaty hugs every time.

Stay tuned for drone footage to come. Thank you to RHPrecisionunmanned for coming out this morning bright and early to catch some special moments and unique shots of this thing we do on Wednesday mornings.

Congrats to Jamie, recipient of the positivity award. Jamie shares her energy right when you need it- a little push, a little cheer, a welcoming smile or a little “woo”. She exhibits that attitude of showing up no matter what. And I believe she has gotten to the point where she embraces the challenge of harsh weathers and dead of winter darkness and cold. It’s part of her week and she shares her love for this community in many areas of her life. We’re glad you’re here, Jamie. Thanks for making this community and our city brighter and better.

Thanks to the tagging crew for the new #grassrootsgear- now you can sport that around the city to everything you do!

Finally, thank you to all of you for sharing your morning, your time and your energy with us.

Here’s to bringing “soles” together,

Liz and Lauren
