Well?

I missed you this morning. I was SUPPOSED to be back in action on the hill but I promptly got sick after the race in Toronto this past weekend (my throat!!!). More on the weekend in a minute.

First…

Way to go out there today! Looked like a solid crew for the mild morning we had. I unpacked my battery gloves to have them ready to go this AM, thinking it might be a bit cooler than it actually was. Three cheers for Rob for leading us through this week. I heard you learned a few new names out there today. Yaaas! I also heard there were some donations made. Also yaaas! Jen Hamel + a pickup bin will be out on the hill for the next 3 Fridays so if you wanted to make a winter clothing donation and didn’t get to today, there are 3 morer chances to do so!

Ok, back to… well?

I just want to say thank you for asking. I heard from so many of you this past weekend before and after the race. I really don’t want to make this post about me but rather highlight YOU. I wrote this piece in 2018 (my first guest blog!) and it still holds true today. We really do have each others’ back.

I also thought I’d share a bit of what unfolded. I know I shared last week that not only I but also my entire family was participating in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon (5k and the half). What unfolded was more than I imagined. This was a very special trip home. And thanks to YOU for asking about it. We really do have each others’ back.

I thought I’d share a few pics below.

Meerabai, Larissa (my sis… can you tell?) and baby Misha
My BIL, Jason- he’s raced in the Boston Marathon many times over
My Daddio, Meer
My Mama Bear, Savi (steps before crossing the finish line of her first half marathon race!)
Thank you for so many well wishes from all of you – I ran my heart out.
Obviously, one should find NP peeps: from Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa… and yes, Edmonton.

And, may I say, with the news of this week… the passing of Bill who is one of our own, having each others’ back has never been more important. I’m sad I wasn’t there to share hugs today but I saw it all week… you were all there for our Gilroy famjam.

That’s what we do.

We work our asses off getting up and down those hills and stairs and we do so with our community right beside us.

An extremely important announcement below.
